Two cities.

Vancouver - Known for its amazing scenery, nestled between the mountains and the water. You can go skiing in the morning and sailing in the afternoon, they say. An hour and a half from world class skiing at Whistler as well. Yes, it does rain quite a bit. Those who've been will know Robson and Granville street for shopping and restaurants. Plus we've got the best sunsets I've ever seen. I've travelled the world and there's no place I'd rather live.

Edmonton - Gonorrhea capital of Canada, apparently. Biggest mall in the world. Really good university. And that's...about...it.

We're a city of close to 250,000, built nowhere near a river and totally dependent on lakes which run low quite often. I guess we'd be known for great city planning.

I guess southern california has Hollywood with all of it's movie stars and such. We also have Amoeba, one of the best record stores in the world as voted by many people and magazines and such. We also have the Governator...i bet every non-californian wishes they had Arnold as their governor.

As for my city, Simi Valley, we have been the safest city in the US for a couple years in a row now I do believe. Subsequently(sp?) this is also a very boring town. Although a while back we had the Rodney King beatings as well as the Charles Manson hideout caves.

Oh ya, part of the Big Lebowski was filmed here. I guess that would be all of the interesting stuff about this place.

1st presidential primary in the nation every 4 years.

No sales tax other than tourist taxes - hotels, rental cars & prepared food.

No state income tax - whew.

The smallest amount of oceanfront property for any state touching an ocean (25 mi. or so)

The 'Segway' gyroscopically balanced personal transportation machine.

Hardly any people of color - it's a pretty white world over here.

Lots of tourists all year for the White Mts., the Lake region and the beach. Tons of leaf peepers during the fall.

Expensive colleges.

More motorcycles per capita than any other state - and we've got lots of months each year where it's too damn cold to ride - go figure.

Woefully not much in the way of beautiful women.

You forgot to mention why we have more motorcycles. We don't have an helmet law here, so every year at the hospital we get 5 to 20 preventable fatalities. What do you want from the "live free and die" state?

Nothing like turning on the tube and seeing on every channel the trial.........

We are also known for great (and not-so-great) sports teams such as the Mariners, Seahawks, Cougs, Huskies, and Sonics.

And of course bands such as Nirvana, Hole, Soundgarden, & Alice in Chains. Rock on, Seattle.
