Videotaped Ghost?
So tell me what you think....
It surprised the hell out of me to have an article from the Associated Press about a possible videotaped ghost incident at Hampton Palace. Here's the article....Ghostly image at Britain's Hampton Court Must be a slow news day. That said, what do you think? Is it real? A fake? What's your take on the whole thing? |

Well, I wish I could find the video of that instead of a screen capture. It would be more convincing.
Anyway, depending on how the security cameras are set up, this just could be a "ghost" image, not in the sense of a ethereal figure but maybe they re-use their video casette tape, and this is an image left over from a previous recording. Since the camera is likely in the same spot, there could just be a chance that there was someone opening the door, and the new recording superimposes the current image, so you see a "ghostly" image closing the door, when in reality its just from the last recording of the tape. That being said, I wouldn't rule out a ghost. But... 99% if not 100% of "ghost" sighting are just people seeing what they want to see in an image. Those websites and TV shows with ghostly images look like breath from people floating in front of the camera, and they thing its a ghost... Sorry to take the fun out of it, but I'm too much of a realist. |

The Metro (The daily free paper here in the UK - huge coverage as they give it away on all railway stations and in all bus depots) gave this story a full page spread and got very excited about it. It looked fairly convincing as they printed the picture very large, but I'm still not sure...

If this is a hoax it must be a pretty good one to get so many people excited about it. For myself, I have absolutely no clue which way to think about this.

It probably is a fake, but dont you know the people that work there must get the chills when they hear strange noises.
I work part time at a school that is supposed to have a ghost and it can get really creepy at night when you hear strange noises. |

The idea of ghosts is kind of silly, and even if not, what the hell are they going to do? Knock pictures off the end-table until you die?

Oh, I used to live in a hanuted house....for real. There were far too many unexplained "incidents" - one of which I still don't even tell my own family, who lived there as well - that I refuse to discount the possibility of something supernatural.

It could be real, or maybe not.
My question is why are the crappy cameras in position to get the pictures of the questionable stuff? You never see a clear picture of a ghost or other unexplained phenomenon. The picture quality is always poor, which of course feeds the debate. |

The still photo printed in our newspaper made the face look long and skinny. It reminded me of the Halloween masks that were popular a couple of years back, the ones with the white face and black hood. That fact in itself makes me skeptical.
