Capitalism reaches a new low (Saddam-related)

Well, I was just watching the BBC world news, and you would NOT believe what was mentioned in the headlines. There is now a Saddam Hussein action figure available.

I'd buy one to go with my Rumsfeld and Bush action figures. They can't beat up on my star wars guys forever, it's not realistic enough!!!

Did you see the DOA Uday doll? Man, that's just bad. That's like a modern day version of sticking slain enemies heads on the castle gate.

Sad thing is that these will probably be collectors items some day after the company goes out of business.

For every person that thinks this is gross, there are many others that will buy it (maybe). It is just human nature. Remember when "pet rocks" were big. Someone took a stone, pained a face on it and sold it as a pet (and made millions apparently).

Funny how art or materialism or whatever you want to call it imitates real life.

On the contrary, I think this doll represents a lot of good things about capitalism. The power of demand can make you a millionaire.

It's kinda like, "if you make one, some idiot is bound to buy it."
People make money anyway they can now days. Entrepeneurship.
I don't dislike the people who make such stuff, just wonder what the people who buy the stuff are thinking.

Forget that, Jesus will have him at His mercy in the afterlife (then when we get to Heaven, maybe we can see the whipping He gave him on PPV). I want to see the merciless damage my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can dish out instead; nothing like witnessing some plastic numchucks (sp?) smashing into a fake Saddam's face.

Seriously...lame. I might be interested if he had a shirt that wasn't humorously cheesy. Ace...ha.

I don't really think it's supposed to be taking seriously. Perhaps it's just general goofy-ness. Or maybe it's in-depth satrical commentary on something. Or maybe not.

I think it's silly. I want a super-buff Saddam to battle with my Power Rangers.
