Does anybody hear think the expenditures were worth it, especially now considering he died prematurely? Obviously we couldn't know that he was going to catch pnumonia, but still... It seemed like a long-shot to be able to have him be fully rehabilitated. And even if was, and lived as a normal whale in the ocean until old age... I still am having trouble justifying the cost for the operation. I mean, I know there's probably a lot of good publicity and "lessons well-learned" by freeing Keiko and such, but sheeeiiiiit. Seems like we could have spent that money and preserved some intact wild habitat or something and saved some animals that can go on happily were it not for us making popsickle sticks out of their homes |

In the infancy of Bittorrent I was downloading a backup for my Lolita DVD and due to improper labeling I got a documentary on Lolita the Show Whale. I watched it anyway and was disgusted at how those animals are treated and forced to work literally to death. I'm glad I never went to that show, and I doubt I'll be going to any other. I can see plenty of vids of these animals if I want to see them in motion, and most times in their habitats.

Keiko died by far a natural, and swift death, which isn't a raw deal in its case |

fishsticks wha?
i got to see keiko at the oregon aquarium before they moved him. i don't think he could've survived out of captivity but it's good that they moved him in a bigger, more natural environment where he got his health up.
