Peeing in the shower
 

A big debat has erupted at work.

IS IT OKAY TO PEE IN THE SHOWER,

I say it is if the shower plug is free of hair and you clean the shower afterwards.

Some people are having a serious fit about this. I can not see the problem I make a mness I clean it up simple.

I concede that if not clean up it might get stinky but hell what do you do soak the floor while jumping out the shower to go for a pee.

What are you opions.

How long are you spending in the shower that you need to take a pee break? Anyway, I always void before showering.

Water will always tell your body that it's ok to pee at that moment. Comon people who seriously doens't pee in the pool?

Urinating in the shower has never bothered me. As I see it, there are only two differences between the shower and the toilet in terms of peeing:[list=1][*]I stand in the shower, and[*]I don't defecate in the shower.[/list=1]
Point #2 cancels out any reservations I have with point #1.

I use the shower to get clean, not to stand in my own feces. What is the toilet for anyway? What's wrong with waiting a few minutes?

There's a toilet just next to my shower! So I don't need to pee in the shower :\

Another thing: if you pee in the shower, you save the water used for one flush of the toilet.

Exactly. I generally aim for the drain anyway, so it's not even like I'm standing around in it. Where does the issue lie? In my laziness? I don't like stepping out of the shower onto a wet floor; the bathroom floor doesn't have a textured surface like the shower.

Urine is antiseptic.

Yep. When we were taking our "learn how to have a baby" classes they told us Urine is nothing to worry about even if it gets ingested by an infant. It will have no harmful effects on your shower's sanitation whatsoever.

I don't pee in public pools, I actually seal off all my openings before swimming there.

I pee in the shower, Just pee down stream. Heh that reminds of my a movie where a Deer pissed in a creek and down stream was a water bottling factory...

The point is, you're not as clean as you think you are. Peeing in the shower is probably just a little cleaner since the stray piss from the shake gets washed off.

Shitting in the shower is a TOTALLY different matter...

Got to pee, let it free! What's the issue about peeing in the shower, as long as it's not a golden shower, unless you're into that I guess. Some times the running water just makes you need to go, no need to get out, it all goes to the same place, and you won't have a wet floor.

I think for most people it comes down to the ew factor. It doesn't bother me as the water is flowing down the drain so fast I doubt any of it would stick to the shower floor. Now as to why I don't just use the nearby toilet, when you get to a certain age (it varies from person to person) the urge to urinate hits you and there's not much to be done about it. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
Hearing about the antiseptic aspects of urine helps set my mind a bit more at ease as well, thanks Lebell.

Do i pee in the shower? Who doesn't? If not for pee, whats the drain for? :D Anyway, damn right i piss in the shower. Aim for the drain and it never even touches your shower floor. The stream washes whatever hits outside the drain anyway. And i go when i first get in, so any soap washing off of me when i shower, hits the floor, and clean it on its way to the drain. Or maybe thats just how i rationalize it. Either way, i save the water of a toilet flush, and dont hafta worry about temp changes in the shower when the toilet flushes or finishes flushing. Plus it saves time.

It is just discusting. I always go the bathroom right before I shower or go into a pool so i drained out everything already. It just doesn't seem right.

Its already sanitary when it comes out. Not a big deal...

I read somewhere that a significantly larger portion of women pee in the shower. Something outlandish like 2/3's or something as compared to 1/4 of men. Guess its because its more obvious when a man is urinating as we get a stream shooting out to one side. With women, it would just run down unnoticed against the streams of shower water...

Not a big deal, pee not to pee. What is the big deal it is not like anybody else uses my shower right now. Now if I was at some one elses house it all goes it the loo.<p>Oh and as far as this shit being in GD it is not shit, it's pee, so does that make it better?

I figure if you are washing anyway you end up with soap going down the drain after it so it cleans it up anyhow. :D

I can pee a million times before I get into a shower or pool. But still end up peeing during both. It's not like I walk in and go hmmm, i think I'll pee in the shower instead of the toilet to see what happens.

Urine is not only antiseptic, it's STERILE. It's filtered through membranes in your kidneys. Sure, set a cup of the stuff out in the sun for a day and it'll rot, but as it comes out, your urine is every bit as clean as the water coming out of the faucet. We're just taught that it's dirty or whatever, and we have to keep it in the commode. That's practically always a good thing, but the point is, if you take a leak in the shower, and then chase it down the drain with 4 gallons of water, have you done any harm?

Personally, I sometimes gotta go during the old morning shower. Call it multitasking.

Doesn't matter. I pee in the shower if I feel like i need to. It never even touches me, so why fuss over it?

I pee in the shower all the time, I just don't like to stand in it so I let it go down and then do what I need to do. :P

Yep, peeing in the shower is all good. The only problem is when you need to go after the you've turned the water off. You've gotta aim for the plug, hold it in or turn the tap on again briefly. Yeah...

But what if you shower doubles as a bath tub? (and yes, people take bathes in it)

I pee in the shower, and I wash my feet in the toilet. I use a bidet as a waterpik. If you shit in the shower, keep stomping. It will eventually go down.

Even if the water runs it through the spout, I don't want to be thinking about walking on the spot I just pissed. I can hold it until I get out of the shower...

No big deal, our bodies can handle a lot worse than a bit of piss.

What the heck is wrong with pee? It is sterile, or practically so, and the water coming out of the shower drains it all away if just a few seconds. There is much worse stuff coming out your nose, if you blow it in the shower, or your spit. I assume that people wash their ass-cracks in the shower? This is much more dirty than a little pee flowing down. I never cease to be surprised at how prissy people are and how hung up about their bodies too. Anyone who is seriously weirded out by peeing in the shower just doesn't seem to be in touch with reality. There is no logical reason for it. Pee isn't bad for you and it washes right down the drain.

It might be sterile, it might be antiseptic, it might be whatever you want it to be, those arguments won't convince me that peeing in the shower is ok. I pee before I go into the shower, so the urge doesn't ever really come up while I'm in there. As far as the people saying that every guy has done it, I call BS.

Peeing in the shower is disgusting! Especially when it's also a bathtub, as mine is. Toilets are there for a reason! USE IT! And if you use it BEFORE using the shower, you shouldn't have any problem holding it until you're out of the shower!

Although it feels dirty, I must admit, I pee in the shower!

Since the toliet is so close to the shower, I pee from the shower into the toilet. Takes aim and practice, but it is fun.

Just kidding. The wife was HORRIFIED to learn that I sometimes pee in the shower the other day. I was teasing her about blowing snot rockets while she was in there, and when I told her not to worry, that I peed in there she about kicked my ass.

There is a toilet next to my shower.

I turn on the shower water in order for it to get warm, pee in the toilet then get in the shower.

Though I know urine is sterile I still don't want to be standing in it.

Personally I dont see the need to piss in the shower when there is a toilet a few feet away. i take a piss before the shower and i dont see why others cant do that and if you do and cannot go 15min without having to go again im sorry but there is something wrong.

Actually urine is very clean. It's mostly water with minerals and vitamins your body didn't need. In fact, ancient societies used urine for cleaning out wounds. The only reason people think it's dirty is because it is a very nutrative substance. Bacteria and things like to grow in it pretty easily.

So, no, I see no problem with pissing on yourself.

I wouldn't pee in the shower although I admittedly frequently jerk off in it.

Peeing in the shower is part of my morning routine. As someone else pointed out, it's not just sterile, it's antiseptic, it's a good cleanser. If you've got athletes foot or other fungus, peeing on your feet will help treat it.

Do you know why you must wash your hands after urinating? It has nothing to do with the urine. You don't wash to get rid of the urine, which is harmless, you wash to clean the truly nasty bacteria that you pick up from the skin in that area and from feces. This, by the way, is why we ladies are always taught to wipe front to back (or even better, dab instead of wipe) Getting a little urine in the vagina or anus is harmless, but feces in the vagina or urinary tract are really, really bad news, and the bacteria from the feces are always there, regardless of how often and how well you clean your nether regions.

I use to think it was gross until I learned more about the antiseptic qualities of urine. I still usually aim downstream. By the time I'm done showering it's all washed down anyway.

Oh man, when I was a kid (like 8-10 years old) my girl friends and I would pee in the shower together all the time. We would take "aim" at the drain and pretend that we could pee like boys (when we stood with our hips thrust forward, we got a pretty nice arc going)... it was fun.

It does smell odd though, and I believe that after a while it starts to stain... and even though I know it's sterile and harmless, I just prefer the toilet.

Of course someone used to say, If you're afraid of the toilet, pee in the lake!! (Which I have done on many waterskiing outings.)

It actually will kill mildew if you have a dirty shower.

Was in boarding school and we had communal showers and usually all were showering round the same time. After sport, before dinner.
Anyway, this friend of mine is standing in the shower grinning like a loon whilst washing his hair. I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but for the fact that he's facing this guy he hates and is chatting to him like he's a long lost brother or something.

Afterward he told me that he was pissing on the guys leg at the time. :D

i shower first thing in the morning and i used to pee in the shower when i first got in, soo i didn't have to let it sit and smell in the toliet... cause i didn't want to run the water.... when i cant hold it in that long i'll just peee in the sink, my penis is long enough to make it in without dripping on the counter around it

As others have said, it's generally sterile so it's not a big deal. If I'm in the shower and have to go, why not? It's all rinsed away anyway, and it's not like I'm aiming for my feet or something.

Just pee at the drain and it will be 'flushed' as you're peeing. It's not like you'd be peeing on your soapdish, washcloth, and all over the shower curtain.

I just don't like the feeling of peeing in the shower. Damn society and their encouragement for ladies to not pee while standing!

I let it go because I don't like the toilet seat being wet. I will go pee in the toilet before I shower if I have too pee. I think about it this way, it goes down the drain then when you wash your hair and body the soap cleans the pee so the shower wont smell well, my shower doesnt smell. I pee with out my boyfriend knowing that I'm peeing when hes in there lol.

If im taking a shower and suddenly I get the urge to pee, and I cant hold it, I will pee down the drain, and if im able to hold it until I am done, then Ill just use the toilet next to my shower.

I don't know what you guys are doing in there that makes you think the urine is going to stick to the floor, but the water's going to rinse it all off anyway.

And if you're getting out of the shower, you're freezing, the toilet seat (if you're a girl) and the toilet paper is wet. It's not worth the effort.
