Would you believe his story?
This is a case that is dominating the news in the UK involving the murders of two 10 year old girls called Holly and Jessica. I was wondering if he really expects anyone to believe the accused man Ian Huntleys' story. Do any of you believe it?
Huntley returns to witness stand Mr Huntley appeared as the first defence witness on Monday Ian Huntley has taken the witness stand for the second day as cross-examination continues in his double murder trial. On Monday he told the jury he was responsible for the deaths of 10-year-olds Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells, but denies their murder. It was the first time the court had heard from Mr Huntley about what happened on 4 August, 2002 - the day the girls disappeared. He says the girls died accidentally in his Soham, Cambridgeshire home. Mr Huntley, 29, denies murder and admits one charge of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. His former girlfriend Maxine Carr denies helping an offender and conspiring to pervert the course of justice. Key points: Day 18 Huntley 'just panicked and froze' Huntley's account of girls' deaths He spent three and a half hours in the witness box after he was called as the first witness for the defence. On Monday in the witness box, Mr Huntley, on the verge of breaking down, expressed regret and said: "I accept I am responsible for the deaths." Mr Huntley claims Holly accidentally drowned in his bathtub, and that he apparently smothered Jessica while trying to stop her screaming. The girls were in the bathroom because Mr Huntley had invited them into his house to try and help Holly stop a nosebleed. The accidents were so freakish that he did not call the police because he thought he would not be believed. He told the court on Monday: "I wish I could turn back the clock, I wish I could do things differently, I just wish none of this had ever happened. "I'm sorry for what has happened and I'm ashamed of what I did. "I accept I'm responsible for the deaths of Holly and Jessica - but there is nothing I can do about it now. I sincerely wish there was." This is the first time that Maxine would have heard what happened that day Ian Huntley After the girls died, Mr Huntley said he put the bodies in the boot of his car, drove to a remote spot and dumped them in a ditch where he poured petrol over them and set them alight. During his evidence, he told how he became depressed and suicidal after his arrest. Mr Huntley said he had wanted to tell Ms Carr the truth about what happened "several times" but never had. All she knew was the girls came to the house and then walked away again, he said. "This is the first time that Maxine would have heard what happened that day," Mr Huntley told the court. |

Its things like this when people dont report to the police, and BURN the bodies that I stop caring wether thier right or wrong.
He admits to being the cause of thier deaths, so to death with him.

i read this stuff while in London and talked to some people about it. Amazing stories, and no I don't believe them. It doesn't matter what the story is since Britian doesn't have capital punishment. It's just a matter of how long he will be incarcerated.

I don't believe a word of his story, except that he is responsible for their deaths. That I can believe.
How do you 'accidentally' kill two people in your home? The girls were ten years old, a little old I would have thought for Holly to accidentally drown in his bathtub. And then, why did he put a pillow over Jessica's face to stop her screaming, instead of instantly calling the police? Some force must have been involved in both instances, and deliberate force resulting in death is what I would term murder. I hope he goes to jail for the rest of his miserable life. |

Occam's razor...the simplest explanation usually tends to be the right one. I don't believe him.
