Why do people smell good?
I posted this link up on the old board. It's an article describing human pheremones. To me, the most interesting part is that pheremones are concentrated in 6 parts of the body: armpits, nipples, genitals, lips, eyelids, and outer ear.
With the exception of eyelids, these are all areas that are associated with sex. Out of curiosity, i tried paying more attention to the taste of my girlfriend's ear last night. i think she enjoyed it, but i can't say i was more turned on than normal! i need to build up the courage to suck her eyelids...

yeah... I knew a gal who used to dip her finger into her punani and take the finger and rub the juices behind her ear....
she smelled nice and was nice to whisper stuff to her.

Probably an even more important question is why do people smell bad? For a normal person just cleanliness is usually all that is required to smell good - or is that not bad. The diet of some people gives them a funky smell and some of those smells are very difficult to get used to. Nothing smells better than a clean woman. Nothing smells worse than a women that is not clean! That is from my viewpoint - the Women would probably turn it around and say about the same thing - nothing is worse than someone who reeks from BO and bad breath.

Good question LD. My breath always stinks. I can brush my teeth and use mouthwash and not eat or drink anything and in half an hour my breath stinks again. Im constantly popping those little listerine strips to keep it under control. Always wondered why but never curious enough to actually look into it.

Shalafi... try brushing your tongue... a lot of crud builds up and can stink. Also try flossing.
on the smelly side of things: I was in the grocery store last night and had the nastiest smelling guy walk by... BO to the max! Why is that some people can't clean themselves? Soap and water! Not a new concept.

One of my former boyfriends--now friend--smells delightful. I left his apartment yesterday smelling of him and his incense. He just has this scent...even after he showers, give him five minutes and he's back to smelling like he always does. It's a very therapeutic smell. Just being in his apartment for five minutes will leave the scent on your clothes. Mmmm. Makes me happy.
I have another friend who has a very distinct smell. It's not unpleasant or off-putting, it's just very distinct. Once at the movies I could smell the scent, and I knew he was in the theater, even though I couldn't see him. Sure enough, he was there when we were walking out. Another guy in one of my classes has the same smell. I guess it's just something in some peoples' body chemistries.

Y'all should try Europe sometime... They don't have the same concept of cleanliness as Yanks.. Not trying to incite riot but just seems that way, could be hypersensitive 'spose.
Yeah pheremones, supposed to be one of the biggest attraction factors for people, must admit I never met a bird I didn't like the smell of. Also, anyone heard of the diet that makes your cum taste like apples? Is it an urban myth or what? Sounds like one of the best chat up lines in the world if its true.....

I would say girlfriends smell good because usually when you are around them they are clean of various bodily odder that is bad but have the various bodily odder that is only smellable when very very close. These smells are then associated with other good things [sexual contact] which then in your mind creates a link of the two.
PI don't think my previous girlfriends ever smelled bad even after hours of 'sweat generating activity'. Again I think it goes back to that whole association issue. Think of the smell of a good steak on a grill for those who are big steak fans; now think about that smell if you had never eaten meat in your life. A good buddy of mine has never eaten meat in his life and as a result just finds it repulsive in every way, it is just the way he was raised. As for diet affecting taste of one's sperm, there has been many a thread on that one. I have not ever heard of one that makes it taste specificly like apples though. A diet of fruits with lots of sugars is generally what gets results, this is for obvious reasons. I would not be surprised that a diet could be made up in order to make a specific taste.

I would guess that not all parts of the USA feature people smelling like roses all the time... As for me personally: when I sweat, it smells pretty nice (to me anyway); quite sweet. But when that sweat dries, it just reeks (similar to my dad, actually)... EW! On the other hand, with all the pheromones, there's got to be a woman out there that would like even *that* smell... |

Yeah I know Dragonlich, it is a big place. But I do wonder if they do have different attitudes to it, given the odours I've smelt. - End of Thread Jack - Sorry...
I find it a good sign if a bird I meet has an acceptable smell. 'Specially if its after a particular vigorous activity. Funny I seem to like the smell of ciggies, beer and pizza
