I watched part of the soft porn show tonight. I thought it was funny. I've come to some conclusions.

1. Models that wear angel wings in their underwear aren't going
to heaven any faster than us.
2. The look on their faces as they stampeded down the runway
meant only one thing,
GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY .. I SEE CHEESEBURGERS AND PIZZA ISLE #3!!

Those girls hadn't eaten in weeks. Do you really think they looked sexy?

I think fashion and sexy are two different things.
Specifically - not sexy at all...

I don't see how anyone can call Victoria's Secret "soft porn" with a straight face. Granted, I didn't actually watch the show, as if I want to see wimmen in few or no clothes, I can do that any time w/o the ads.

Network television only ads to my viewing displeasure, so why watch it?

I thought Victoria's Secret was that you can buy $500 worth of sexy underthings for your wife, but she's still your wife.

Lets face it Victoria hasen't got <i>that</i> many secrets left. This may become very evident if you have seen the new catalog.

Incidentally Victoria's Secret is actually that Herman Goebells started the company by wearing the teddies under his uniform.

*yawn* I already get to see a sexy lady in her underwear. I married her.

I started watching the show but shut it off after 25 minutes. It was just pissing me off. All the women had the same skinny body and it got pretty boring. Plus that walk of theirs did get annoying and made them all look even more the same. Some variation would have been nice, but I guess they'd have to put women with curves into the show for that to happen.

They could have used a lot more women with bodies like Leah has in this picture:

She is so goddamn hot (perfect misture of Brazilian, American Indian, and some other nationalities)

The rest are way too skinny and not healthy at all.

Models should reflect reality. However, this would potentially cause the decline in overall sales and profitability for company's such as Victoria's Secret and CBS. I was fascinated and disenchanted at the same time. This was another prime example of mind control and mass marketing.

You would have thought the Michigan/OSU game was being played in our dorm :lol:

The funny thing was that dirrectly after the show, the New York CBS news went directly into their "shame on you" report where they took hidden video cameras around the city and showed how Victoria's Secret stores retag returned thongs (potentially worn) and put them back on the shelves. They must have been pretty pissed after pumping so much money into the fashion show. It amuses me to see all the people "behind the scenes" act like they have the most demanding job in the world when they are just telling these models when to go. They take themselves so seriously.

I really wish people would realize that starvation is not sexy at all. I truly shudder when I look at skeletally thin women, especially since they'd be gorgeous if they put on 10 or 20 pounds.

The reason that they all the models in these shows are so skinny is that they are intended to be 'walking coat hangers' to show off the clothes/lingerie.

I agree. Some of the models in the fashion show were making me cringe a bit.

Kristanna Loken, the fashion model who plays the T-X in Terminator 3, gained 15 pounds for her role in the movie and I thought she looked stunningly beautiful. It was refreshing to see a woman with more of a curvy body in a movie for a change. I wish more women looked like that in movies and TV.

Also, Elle Macpherson gained over 20 pounds to get a figure of 37D-25-36 for her role in Sirens and looked absolutely gorgeous in that movie.

Yup. It seems like backwards thinking though considering that lingerie is supposed to show off the woman.

I'm sure they eat plenty. The human body actually stores more fat if there is no food to burn on a regular basis. Kind of a genetic security blanket. It challenges the typical American thinking, but its true.
