I'd like to say that we don't feel this is elitist or based on any popularity poll. It's merely a security lock that we need to use in order to keep the pests out of our community. A board free of trolls and flamers is our ultimate goal, after all. Anyone is free to jump into the fray and everyone is entitled to discussion as long as they uphold to our rules. It's that simple. I sense the only people opposed to this form of action are those who care very little for what we have going all ready. In order to advance, once you've reached a certain number of posts, the moderators review your posts (using some scripts I've written up) and if you've posted good, meaningful stuff (as opposed to one-word or useless posts) then you get your key to the more personal and protected forums. We don't respond to people requesting access and if you've had warnings in the past, your access may be delayed if not put off indefinately. This is standard nest protection. Yes, we take this very seriously.
