Girls pummel man who exposed himself

CNN.com/US

Friday, October 31, 2003 Posted: 11:06 AM EST (1606 GMT)

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (Reuters) -- A man described by authorities as a known sexual predator was chased through the streets of South Philadelphia by an angry crowd of Catholic high school girls, who kicked and punched him after he was tackled by neighbors, police said Friday.

Rudy Susanto, 25, who had exposed himself to teen-age girls on as many as seven occasions outside St. Maria Goretti School, struck again on Thursday just as students were being dismissed, police said.

But this time, a group of girls in school uniforms angrily confronted Susanto with help from some neighbors, police said.

When Susanto tried to run, more than 20 girls chased him down the block. Two men from the neighborhood caught him and the girls took their revenge.

"The girls came and started kicking him and punching him, so I wasn't going to stop them," neighbor Robert Lemons told The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Susanto was later treated for injuries at a local hospital. Police said he would be charged with 14 criminal counts including harassment, disorderly conduct, open lewdness and corrupting the morals of a minor.

Heh . I think it was ' Dead or Alive 3 ' that taught these girls that it's OK to KICK a PERV's ASS while wearing a school uniform !

definitely!!

i can see a tv series in that... perhaps each week the pervert can be a different guest star (like Don Johnson or someone).
every week VIGILANTE CATHOLIC SCHOOL GIRLS would travel round beating up sex-offenders...

actually, i doubt that idea would make it past the pitch.

So for halloween a guy went out on halloween dressed as a priest. He had a boy baby doll wrapped around his arm. When asked what he was, he kindly replied, "A priest on the patch."

Back on topic though, I'd love to see a video of this. It'd definitely rank up there with the Matrix bullet-dodging lawyer.

Best. Costume. Ever.

But seriously, vigilante justice rules, and the perv deserves a lot more than a little beating.

Amazing. I wasn't aware that "corrupting the morals of a minor" was a punishable offense, nor that we in America have legalized standards of morality by which to judge by. Yet if "corrupting the morals of a minor" is actually an offense, then wouldn't 90% of Hollywood and the music industry, not to mention the RIAA, have to be charged with it?

Gwr, I also think "corrupting the morals of a minor" is a little wierd considering all the corruption they get from everywhere else. How is that even a law? How do you tell if someone's morals are corrupted, it's not like windows gives an error message...

cybermike - I don't know how it's a law, but it probably falls under 9th amendment govt rights somehow. Lord only knows how they'd manage to justify it, but the govt's done some pretty crazy stuff with the "necessary" clause.

Hmmm,... one thread comdemns the use of violence against an assumed pedophile/predator but another thread condons violence against a supposed pedophile/predator. I guess it depends on who seeks vigilante justice and for what moral gain.

Hey, here's an idea. Let's all carry around crow bars and baseball bats everywhere we go. Then if we see someone being chased down the street we can chase after them as well. We'll just assume they are criminals, because the other people wouldn't have been chasing the guy/gal in the first place unless they were. When we finally catch them we'll hear the 'real' story from the pursuer and have justifialble reason to kick their ass.
This story is not funny, it's sick. Condoning any kind of vigilantie justice degrades us all. I would have no problem with the situation if they tackeled the guy and held him until the police showed up, but beating him up is not acceptable to me. It's a slippery slope folks. What next? Can a store owner keep a meat cleaver behind the counter and hack off the hand of a shoplifter?
I think the school girls should be charged with assault, although I doubt they will.
