Being single sucks

and thats why i am glad i am not!!!

Except for this week. My wife is in new Orleans on a freelance assignment and due to the fact that i work 40 a week and have school everynight until 10:30 my kids are at grandmas.

I thought it was going to be fun being on my own for a week. Hitting all the shows and bars... but this sucks. i realize i am just going out to get away from being alone in the house.... damn co-dependant mindset!!

Yeah i've been single for over a year and it definetly gets lonely sometimes. But then again I think of all the bitching I dont' have deal with and it's all good :D

being single sucks but then it has its advantages, go out with the guys, shoot some pool hit a club and then meet some girls, then voila, not single any more!

during summer school last yeari was in a 4 person apartment dorm by myself... at first i was always trying to get out and hang with other people... but after a week or so i actually started enjoying the time alone... went to class and ate lunch and dinner with people... and hung out some on the non schoolnight evenings...

but i really enjoyed the time alone... could have it completely quiet if i wanted...

after the initial getting used to it time period i really enjoyed it...

Bastard!

rogue49 11-01-2003 01:04 PM

Yep, it does.
Some people just enjoy themselves better with others.

I know how to enjoy my time to myself alone,
but I would prefer to share it with another that enjoys my company.

Well, some day the 'twain shall meet.
Until then...

My girlfriend just informed me that she plans on staying in Califonia (this started as a one week trip). I am trying like crazy to carve some space in California for myself as well.

I don't like this single crap, having a partner nearby is much better.

Being single is great...do what you want, when you want. No asking the gf/wife, "May I go to the bar with my friends?", "Can I buy this new expensive item?" etc.

GSRIDER 11-01-2003 03:59 PM

Oh yeah... and mad mad mad props go out to single parents!!!

during the work week the kids have been w/ the in laws. But right now it's me and 3 youngans... 2,4 and 11. Of course the 11y/o is all fine on his own. but the other two can't keep thier hands off eachother.

Kung Fu dad on the roll!!!

JStrider 11-01-2003 04:03 PM

Neet article lunchbox...

ive been thinking about doing some little adventure by myself for thanksgiving or spring break....

Not having to ask permission for stuff or 'check in' every so often is a definite plus to being single. It can get kinda lonely, but like rogue49 said, it's all about how comfortable you are by yourself. I'm sure you'll just be getting used to it by the time the wife gets back.

peacy 11-01-2003 04:27 PM

Single? Not single? You just have to deal with it... Both situations have a long list of pros and cons.

BTW, I'm currently single and really enjoying it... Eating cold pizza in bed for breakfast wasn't really working with my prev g/f... :)
(on the other hand I just had a huge crush on this new girl @ work, so let's see what future brings...)

guthmund 11-01-2003 11:44 PM

I have no problem being single.

Sure I enjoy company every now and then and relationships are nice, but I learned how to be comfortable with myself a long time ago.

Sleepyjack 11-02-2003 12:23 AM

yeah, i wouldn't mind having a girlfriend........

What sucks even worse is when she comes back from New Orleans with her neck loaded down with Mardi Gras beads and refuses to say where she got them... ;)

Being married is awesome and I wouldn't trade it for the world. At the same time, I do sort of halfway enjoy the time lurkette is away on business. I miss her and it feels weird, but there is a measure of freedom in it. I always pay the price the day she returns, though, with all the house cleaning needed to restore things from a bachelorized state.
