I think i got a 1290 when i took it but that was 10 or 11 years ago. I do remember it was one of the highest in my shcool and I didnt do any of the preparation classes or books. I believe i had to take the act as well because i waited like 3 or 3 1/2 years before going to college. I have no clue what i scored on that. All i was worried about was not having to take the no-credit intro math and english classes so i didnt sweat that very much when i took it.
I went to Indian River Community College (aka the University of Virginia Avenue) for a while but never graduated. I still pop in for a class once in a while when i have time. I work in the IT dept. for a citrus company. Last edited by shalafi; 10-27-2003 at 10:48 AM.. |

Yes, the test has changed. I believe back around 1995 or 1996, they "recentered" the test, so that all scores prior to that should be considered 200 points higher than what you actually got, when compared to modern tests.
But that's just a vague memory.

I forget what my SAT score was - not as important for midwest schools. My ACT score, however, was 33.
Oh yeah, and I currently go to DePaul University in Chicago.

First time I took it I was in 7th grade. Did some Duke Unniversity thing.
Got like a 1020 on it, I think. I don't remember my scores for my junior and senior years...

I don't have much to share here. I took my SATs and ACTs in 1964. I can guarantee you that I don't remember the scores (not that they would matter much at this point).
My scores were good enough for me to be accepted into UC Berkeley in 1965.

Verbal 630
Math 670 Two Master's degrees (MBA, Petroleum Engineering), Bachelor's (Geology). I work as a senior engineer. As an addendum, when I took the tests to get into graduate schooo, I had near perfect scores on the equivalent type test. (800 math and 750 verbal). I just don't recall whether this was the GRE or the GMAT. |

Broke 1,000 in 7th grade.......did much better 1,400+ in high school. Meanwhile, throughout HS and college, I couldn't get good grades to save my life. And no....I wasn't bored or lazy.
I am an absolute believer that these kind of tests measure only one thing....how good you are at taking standardized tests. As a matter of fact, I taught a prep course for a while and used to blow people away when I could show them the right answer to certain verbal questions without seeing the question. High scores. Low scores. Neither really matters. There are much more important measures of success. (P.S. -- Went to Bowdoin....where test scores are not required.) |

I'm mildly familiar with SAT but never heard of ACT here in Canada. All that was required was sending my high school transcripts to a processing centre with a list of what universities I was interested in and that was it.Never took any specials tests though. Atleast not any I can remember

These scores are extremely high, either the TFP is full of geniuses or people who didn't smash the test just aren't posting their scores. Probably the first I also notice a significant portion of you did better on verbal than math. This is rather uncommon as everyone I knew did better on math. As for myself I'm a senior at the Univ. of Pennsylvania.

I don't remember the specific Math and Verbal scores but I took it once and got a 1090. I didn't really study or anything. Most of tht comes from the Verbal, I'm horrible..HORRIBLE at Math.
I know some people with 1550-esque scores who Constantly bring it up in conversations. If you honestly think that a Standardized Test is any real means of how Intelligent you are, you probably have your priorities all out of whack

I got a 1270 on mine
600 v 670 m I think I ended up going to Lehigh University. Like it's been said already, the test doesn't measure all that much. My brother got a 1290 on his sat and graduated 3rd in his engineering class at Lehigh - so go figure.

I took both the SAT and ACT - but it's been so long ago, I have no idea what I scored - other than good enough to get accepted at the 4 colleges to which I applied. Anyone out there know how I can find my scores? Not that they mean anything at this point in my life. Just curious.
