Intercompany Job Interview Attire

So I was thinking about applying for another job in another dept in the same company I work for. I know everybody there and they know me, but was wondering what I should wear for an interview. Do I wear a suit? Business casual? I don't know what to do. I figured some TFP'rs interview people and might have some hints. Thanks in advance. Snoogens.

Again, my line of work.....
If it is a new business you are going to, always dress to impress. Long sleeve shirt and tie and slacks are the best bet. If it is a company with which you currently work, you know everyone, and the environment is already business casual, then do as ou would normally do. Wear dockers and a nice golf shirt. Make sure you know all of the people interviewing you though. You can always wear the shirt and tie just in case, but if you already have a good relationship with the company, go ahead, wear the business casual.

Ditto. Throw on a tie and collared shirt and you're likely good to go. It says "I take this seriously" but also "I'm an insider"

I guess it would depend on the job. A trash tosser would not need a suit to apply to drive the truck.

I would go one step above the normal dress at the office. Not far enough to be out-of-line, but looking good.

I've interviewed for interdepartment jobs, and I've always worn a suit, even if the interviewer is not. Better to look too good, then not good at all.
