I was 2 or 3 (can't remember, should ask my mom tomorrow.) I was sitting on my mom's lap on the couch in the living room while my dad sat in the kitchen and assembled a ride-on pedal-powered buldozer/backhoe that they had gotten for me. I tried to get up and walk over to him, but my right leg hurt too much to hold my weight.
There are no pictures of this, I've looked through the photo albums, and nobody told me about it. I'll check tomorrow to see if mom remembers what time of year it was and why my leg hurt so much. |

Hard to say. It all gets jumbled up for me, and I can't put specific ages on anything. I remember at one point, I decided that I wanted to be a kangaroo. I proceeded to use my underwear as my "pouch." I know I was at MOST 3. Probably closer to 2.

I have many memories from about 3-4, I can't exactly place order.
I remember having some kind of heat stroke inside our car (lived in Texas). I remember when I ate a bunch of pink pills because I thought they tasted good, and I slightly remember a bath of ice after that. I remember seeing snow on Christmas. I remember finding a cat on that Christmas I think. I remember when I flushed a banana peel down the toilet, and we had to get a plumber to come. I also remember setting my popsicle down on the top of our nintendo so I could unpause and play Mario more, our NES soon stopped working after that I think. I remember when I was with my mom and we ran out of gas at the light before the gas station, people had to push us into the gas station. I remember getting the Donatello ninja turtle action figure. I remember my dad coming back at the end of October from Saudi Arabia (desert shield), my mom crying, and that it was dark outside. I think that's all |

My first post.
So, I have this early memory of being in the car with my mom and dad. I'm in the back seat and I'm leaning towards the middle of the front seat. We are going down a big hill towards a large body of water. The water is the result of a flood & it has eclipsed the road. I become very anxious & quite frightened as we get closer. Here's where it gets strange - I was telling a cousin about this "memory" a couple of years ago & my mom overhears. She presses for details & I give what I can. She tells me that it is her memory. Never happened to me. So, did I just hear my mother tell this story once, or were one or some of her memories passed to me in the womb? I think the first explanation is the truer, but dammit if it doesn't seem like my own memory. I mean, I can see the sights and experience the emotions of that moment. Funny how the mind can become convinced of things given time. |

The earliest memory I have is one from my christening. I remember an Aunt and my Dad plain as day. Not sure why that stands out but that's it....life was certainly easier back in that day!

Actually, you won't believe this, but when I was born, my dad was carrying me down the hall from the nursery of the hospital to my mother for the first time after I was cleaned and what-not. I remember looking into his eyes. How do I know this is true? I told him one time, and he said that he remembered looking at me and being amazed at how alert I was, staring right back into his eyes.

I have a lot of memories from around the time I was three or four. Those were great times. Some major events some minor. I remember painting the trees blue because I thought it was a pretty color and cutting down all my mothers flowers because I was sure my rubber knife was in there and I thought they were weeds. I remember picking and eating fresh asparagus that use to grow wild along the ditch by the house. I remember getting kicked by a horse, boy do I remember that.

My earliest memeory - asking my mother for a "nanny-jug" my chilchood name for breastfeeding. I was breastfed until I was 2 I think.
My next most earliest memory is climbing on my parents bed and snuggling up to Mom. Dad telling me that it was his turn to snuggle with me and tickling me. I was rolling around on bed and playing. Very good memories.

My first memory is when I was under the age of 18 months. I was in a stroller and this lady in a white blouse with big hair was handing me a sheet of candy buttons. My mother doubted this memory until I described, in perfect detail, the layout of the apartment we were in-we moved from the complex when I was 18 months old.
Regressional therapy brought out other memories of my life as a small child, but none so innocuous, yet pleasant, as that one. |

My first memory is getting my ass whupped by my grandfather for peeing on the couch during the night. Can't say he didn't warn me the evening before. The next distinct memory is my mother bringing me outside as my father got home from work and him lifting out this huge tricycle, I must have been about three. I believe it was for my birthday. My next memory is sitting on my father's lap at my mother's funeral asking questions the following early summer and not really understanding what was going on.

I'm 27...borderline 28....and I remember the emergency room at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania....Kenny Rogers playing in the waiting room....my mother was in an accident, with me in the car...and they were treating her injuries, and I was waiting in the waiting room.... "Lady" was the song, and I remember it vividly....that's the furthest back I can remember...I was almost 2 at the time..which is good....that I can remember that far....because I can't remember relatives from two years ago....I had a stroke at 22 that took a GREAT deal of my memory...but for some reason...I remember THAT....still

First real memory was from my 4th birthday, I got a nerf basketball set and I was enamored with it.
What got me thinking though was this: I didn't recall the details of this day until I saw a picture of me playing with the set about a year ago.
