Long term memory is intact. My short term memory blows. And for those who scream "DRUGS!".....no my friend, I had shitty bad term memory from the moment I had my first concussion.
In a coma for a day, had to drill to release pressure on the inside (water on the brizzain). The docs say I didn't have damage to the hippocampus, but my short-term memory is *terrible*. Ever seen memento? I'm one step away from being that guy. And when I develop alzhiemers (its runs in my family), i'll not only remember short term, but long term too. Thank you heredity!

Hmm. I have a lot of childhood memories. Some of them are extremly clear...like, I can remember what people were wearing. Others are more fuzzy recollections that are almost surreal. Like, I have memories dating as far back as age three. Most of them were significant events (my brother being born, my dad getting kicked in the face by a horse, etc.) As I grew up, my memories are of more day-to-day activities.

Its a shame you can't remember your first crush on a girl. Playing with your friends. Going to school for the first time. The first time you went to see any sports in person. Just think back, something has to come up. I just hope you didn't have a terrible childhood and you are blocking it out. Glad

I remember damn near anything except incredibly routine and uninteresting things, like eating chips or throwing shit at cars as they drove through t parking lot from my cool network of vush forts...yes I had jack shit to do so I made about 15 miniforts in various bushes, then Jr. High came, hot damn boobs were fun.
edit: I mean their boobs, I'm a non-homosexual manly man who is currently eating an apple! That is green, they are better than all, macintosh aren't too good. |

I can't remember anything in extreme detail (like what people were wearing) but I can remember the basics (what was being talked about, what happened, etc.). Must suck to have a crappy long-term memory.

It sucks that most people don't remember their childhood. I remember from my childhood watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and junk like that. Transformers were the thing back then too. Damn I miss those old Transformers.....

Haha I can remember entire episodes of Transformers and all that cool shit before focus groups, targeted audiences, and socially relevent bullshit became the new prerequisites for any new episode of anything. In the 80s the media turned inconceivabley stupid. But yeah, boobs were fun. Much fun.

I'm surprised that so many say they can't remember their childhood very well. This is news to me. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I remember back to age 2 in some instances.
I think it's sad sometimes when I play with my 7 month old daughter. She seems to be having such a good time and learning every moment, but it's sad that she won't remember a second of it.

well my childhood was a blur and i'm only 20.
i remember in pictures. but nothing too detailed like what i was wearing. i can remember scenery and landmarks more so than age or the clothes i wear. memory is subjective and i believe a lot of the 'memories' i have are just from my mom or oldtime friends telling me things they remember.. to which i then create an image of what they're describing and call it my own memory.

When I first read the original post of this thread, I thought to myself that I could remember my early childhood fairly well, but now that I think about it, I can't really remember much from before I was 10 or so. (I'm 22 now.) I have memories going back as far as 4, or possibly younger, but most of them are very faint. For some reason I find this kind of disturbing. :/
