Most horrible way to die. . .

K, dont know if this has been done yet or not but if so im sorry. . .

What, in your own opinion, is the worst way to die?

Ex. Burning to death
Fatal desease or illness

Basically any way that is prolonged and very painful. . .

K-Wise 09-28-2003 11:17 PM

Many many ways. Trapped under rubble of a building like on Sept. 11th hoping someone will find you or being trapped under an avalanche. Drowning, much worse drowning underneath a frozen lake because you stepped on thin ice and you can see the people above you desperately trying to free you. Dying in quick-sand. But to me...best I can think of as the worst kinds of deaths are when you're pinned in a certain position that allows you to be alive...but once you're taken out of it you die. This happens a lot in automobile accidents and train accidents where people are run over. A good example is the begining of the movie Signs where the wife is pinned against the tree. Because see you're completely conscious and you almost feel perfectly fine and you can completely and compitently converse with those around you..which are normally your loved ones who are bidding you farewell it's not like when you're on your death bed and you can barely make anything out it's completely clear. I imagine....in my own personal opinion...that that is quite possibly hands down the worst way to die. Some may agree with me.

Asta!!

K-Wise 09-28-2003 11:22 PM

I imagine you'd wanna stay like that and live as long as you possibly can all the while knowing that eventually they have to free you from your pinned position and let you go....Indeed a very...very...horrible way to die. Quite possibly even more horrible than that would be to die alone.

Asta!!

numberfive 09-28-2003 11:57 PM

Was done here.

But like I said in the last one, I wouldn't want to be buried alive. I'm sure that would suck.

K-Wise 09-29-2003 12:01 AM

Kinda the same topic but not really. That one is more so oriented towards picking how you die if you could and this one is just flat out what is the worst way.

In Shogun by James Clavell a guy gets boiled alive. It took most of the night for him to die. I think it would be hard to go far past that one. Just the though of waiting in that cauldron as the water went from cold to luke warm to warm to hot to too hot would make me mental.

Xiangsu 09-29-2003 04:00 AM

Buried Alive is the worst in my opinion.

onetime2 09-29-2003 04:13 AM

Maybe not the worst way but bugged me when I saw it in a movie:

Person swimming in a pool was dragged underwater and had an ankle handcuffed to the grate at the bottom. Everyone was still on the surface swimming and having fun with no clue. Even if someone did see you down there, what could they do? Bolt cutters or a handcuff key aren't exactly readily available. A scuba tank or someone giving you mouth to mouth constantly would be needed.

Dano069 09-29-2003 06:27 AM

I think burning to death is the worst possible way to die, although, being boiled to death would be a close number two.

supafly 09-29-2003 06:31 AM

Burning to death for me

tinger 09-29-2003 06:36 AM

I don't think being buried alive would be that bad. As time went on and you didn't eat I think it would be easier and easier to just sleep.

I was going to say something else when I clicked this thread, but now I'm going to have to go with being boiled alive over the course of several hours.

johnnymysto 09-29-2003 07:02 AM

I always thought drowning would be the worst, but now I may have to agree with the boiling. I wonder what the actual CAUSE of death would be from being boiled. Just being too hot, like when you have a high fever?

Jesus Pimp 09-29-2003 07:18 AM

Being skinned alive I would say..

Acetylene torch, dude. I'd take the burning over the drowning.

In fact, I'm assuming most of you who talk about being burned alive or boiled alive haven't been seriously burned before. I have a pretty high pain threshold, but I can still say that being burned isn't that bad. Your nerves die, eventually.

My vote on the most horrible way to die is tied right now between dehydration from amoebic dysentary and freezing to death (from cold water or cold air, either.) I really hate being cold, and I don't get numb for a long, long, long time. It ranks with uncontrollably shitting myself to death, as far as I'm concerned.

prince_albert 09-29-2003 07:34 AM

i would think the people in hirsohima that survived the blast only for a very short time, thier clothes become one with their skin...i dont know, its just seems one of the worst terrorist attacks ever to me...

Fremen 09-29-2003 07:42 AM

How about death by papercut?

~Tortured by his psychopathic secretary bent on exacting revenge for all her sister secretaries that have been wronged over the years, Jack was slowly bled to death by thousands of small papercuts over a period of days.~

I'm with Thraeryn. Dying of exposure sounds pretty bad. Can't stand being cold. Sure, eventually, it's like going to sleep, it's just the waiting I couldn't stand. Plus, if you die someplace like Everest, there's a good chance your body will end up sitting there forever. No one can waste the enrgy or oxygen bringing you down.

Read "Into Thin Air" by John Krakauer for a pretty amazing account of this.

skysooner 09-29-2003 08:03 AM

I think everybody's version is going to be completely different. Dying in a car accident is what I see in my nightmares, but it wouldn't be a horrible way to go. Anything that is a long, lingering, painful death is probably the worst.

BonesCPA 09-29-2003 08:09 AM

I believe at a certain point the dying from exposure to cold isn't as you would expect. The initial chills/shivering/etc. would be bad, but you do eventually fall asleep and die that way. And the Everest situations usually also tie into lack of oxygen at higher altitudes, and you usually hallucinate, so you may not realize you are dying.

My fear is dying by having my body detiorate over time, but having my mind in tact. To know that you are dying, and it may take a couple of years, and not be able to stop it, and eventually be unable to move, is the worst in my opinion.

Pyrate 09-29-2003 08:37 AM

Anything that involves suffocating under a large weight.

But the most painful way? Heh.

Being tied up and placed face-down (head facing upwards) on a 'cheese-grater' slide, which leads to a pool of vinegar with fire on top.

-Just imagine it...

*SHUDDER*

Miekle 09-29-2003 08:50 AM

Dehydration would be pretty bad I think..but worse would be from the move What to do in Denver..... They shoot the guy up the ass and he just lays there for a couple hours in pain knowing he can't be saved. Although the boiling does sound pretty horrid I would think you would pass out after a little bit from the heat.

yoshi 09-29-2003 08:53 AM

Drowning or being buried alive would be the worst for me

Wax_off 09-29-2003 09:04 AM

Anyway where you knew you were going to die and couldn't do anything about it. I have a particular fear of not being able to breath.

Drowning, being slowly crushed to death do it for me.

Phaenx 09-29-2003 09:31 AM

Crucifixion sounds like ass. Try to hold yourself up for days until your muscles burn out and you can't breath? No thanks.

CyN1caL 09-29-2003 09:36 AM

I would hate freezing to death. Being warm because you are so cold is really annoying.

fallen_angel 09-29-2003 10:27 AM

ya know im thinking more along the lines of ebola where your insides slowly turn into liquid then all the sudden you just start bleeding from everyopening on your body.
i think to me disease is the worst since i have had my share of incounters, bone cancer, various types of viruses that could potentially kill me like pnemonia i cant take medicine for cuz im allergic them. just things like that.

But the worst way by far to die is to die alone

VF19 09-29-2003 10:41 AM

Being in a line, tied up, and someone is blowing the minds out of the people in front of you in the line. You'd be so terrified, its crazy. Or some guy in a airproof suit is spraying white gas onto the people in front of you, and then the people all shit their pants and shake and stuff (think nerve gas)
Or, waking in the middle of the night and realize someone is to kill you but they are cutting in the wrong spot.

Moskie 09-29-2003 11:16 AM

Being in a room that closes in on itself very slowly, like at a rate of one inch per month (or whatever, you get the idea). You somehow are given food/air to survive. The room gets smaller and smaller until one day it's one inch too small....

veruca 09-29-2003 11:17 AM

i am thinking anything that inlvolves various types of torture...bamboo shoots under your nails, etc...or being the last one to die, as someone rapes and murders your family right in front of you...but i think being skinned alive would be the worst...really slow with a fillet knife...ugh

soccerchamp76 09-29-2003 12:39 PM

Something that involves 3 types of pain: emotional, physical, and mental.

Having everyone you love curse at you and they are the ones who arranged your death and never ever liked you (emotional); being stuck in a room forced to stand with no lights and only bread and water so you don't know what time of day it is (mental); and other type of physical pain (physical).

Lyaec123 09-29-2003 01:13 PM

Starving to death would be aweful... it takes like 3 weeks to starve, at least drowning would only be a couple minutes.. :-/

Mael 09-29-2003 05:48 PM

worst way to die would be in anyway that happens right before a threesome with 2 beautiful women...

bundy 09-29-2003 05:50 PM

alone.

(i said this in the previous incarnation of this thread - and i haven´t changed my mind).

they say drowning is euphoric... so maybe that one would be a decent way to go... and if you´re way out at sea, then maybe your remains would be put to good use as feed for the hungry fishies.

santafe5000 09-29-2003 05:55 PM

I,ve always had a bad feeling about being buried alive. Slow death has to be the worst.

mattevil 09-29-2003 06:01 PM

I heard of people drowning in molasses and shit(sewage treatment plant) that would be horrible and way worse than plain ole water. burning to death and exposure to high amounts of radiation would be bad too.

K-Wise 09-29-2003 06:20 PM

I see a lot of people saying being boiled alive. It was a movie I think thats bullshit that it would take that long for you to die. Any other creature in the animal kindom die instantaniously when dipped in boiling water. I imagine your body would go into shock and you'd die quite quickly. Prolly still burn like hell for a good ten minutes or something but none the less definitely couldn't be for most of the night. It'd have to be on a pretty low fuckin temperture.

Asta!!

Astrocloud 09-29-2003 06:25 PM

Possibly, the most horrid way to die is the way that the nazis would occasionally murder pregnant jewish women -by tying their legs together when they went into labor.

I've given this much thought in the past and I believe that that is the absolute worst way to die. Death by a thousand slices comes in at second place; but it's nowhere near as horrid. imho

mattevil 09-29-2003 06:33 PM

there was a story a while back where a lady killed her husband by locking him in a container of acid and it took hours for the guy to die. that's up there definetly.

battlemouth 09-29-2003 07:18 PM

slowly going through a meat grinder feet first

DownwardSpiral 09-29-2003 07:28 PM

Being buried alive would just blow.
