I'm still a college student, so my job most likely sucks compared to most of yours.
But...things that i liek bout it: Working with bright and educated people. I can be 1 hour late to work and not worry about it. I can call in sick whenever I want and still get paid absence and vacation. I can leave work early if I wanted to, especially if i have classes. I can study at work. Good paycheck for a student. I can bullshit around on TFP and play Mummy Maze (i'm addicted) quiet often. $80 transportation allowance every month. |
I'm under almost no pressure to get stuff done. I like it that way.
|
well, its not quite my job, but my life as a student certainly has a lot of good things going for it.
lots of spare time. (most of which spent on TFP). lots of great people in my course. lots of cute girls. lots of parties. lots of booze. hardly any assignments. now, i just have to find a job that lets me continue my decadent lifestyle. |
1. The money
2. The holidays 3. The vacation days 4. The easy work, because I am a co-op student :) |

side job-pizza jockey-the constant surprises behind the door |
I work in Law enforcement , so i would say i love interacting with people and helping people out!
|
1. I can work in street clothes
2. my boss is very laid back 3. I get time off whenever I need/want it 4. its no big deal if I'm late for work 5. my job involves watching TV and playing with audio equipment 6. its no big deal if want/need to leave work early. 7. the pay is decent 8. my boss gives me lots of free stuff Thats all I can think of now. |
The staff and the public are always a real good laugh as it is a paintball site so people are having fun. The moneys good and its not even like being in work.
P.S. and internet access yippee :) |
Love my job.

I work at radio shack its like a little kid working in a candy store.
I get 30% discount on anything that says radio shack and 10% on anything else. 30% off batteries is nice :P and then guitar cable and other random stuff. And working on commision is really rather nice. |
I'm the tech lead of the server production team at a mid-sized wholesale white-box PC OEM. This job feeds my Napolean complex all too well. I have practically attained deity status among our salesdroids and management. I get to play with most of the latest technology as soon as we get our hands on it. The employee discount is certainly nice too...
At times the stress gets to me but the people I work with are mostly great and there's almost always something to laugh about. I'm not getting rich right now but I'm comfortable. A short 8 minute commute is nice too. :) |
thats a tough question...
i think that for the most part i have the ability to do what ever i want |
I like the whole not having a job. Playing cards for a living has its perks.
|
With my auto repair shop only 10 feet from my house, my job is great and any time I want to take time off...I give myself permission to be off.
|
I work in a bar.
Awesome co-workers Social atmosphere Some cool customers I enjoy my level of responsibilty - high up enough that I don't get bossed around, low enough that there's not too much stress. |
1. Little supervision- as long as the work is actually getting done, no one ever bothers you.
2. Overtime whenever you want it. 3. First dibs at cracking open abandoned vaults (the company I work for buys old buildings) 4. Lots of pretty women walking around in the area. 5. Unless it's your shift to be on call for emergencies, once work ends you go home for the day and work doesn't follow you. 6. Every day is different- one day you're exploring an abandoned amusement park, the next day you're 9 stories up cleaning a roof, and the next day after that you're riding a golf cart grabbing trash off the ground as you speed by. (it's never dull.) |
Damn... I envy so many of you guys... Seriously - I want to be webmaster of nude models website, and I want to drive in F-16. I want to travel a lot as well or just from home ... Oh.. My life sucks...
Ok - about me. Im working within Telecommunications company in Latvia. Basically I'm responsible person about repairs of phones, so the biggest Plus would be - I can break so many things !!!! Of course- i have to repair them later, but I can break them which is big plus. And many managers - actually all of them , must depend on me and be nice to me if they want everything to be fixed in time :) Ps. What happened in 2003, that most of forum posts stopped at ? |
I like seeing some of the things people choose to do for a living, and the names they choose for their businesses. Today's gem: "In and Out Car Wash & Lube."

- Getting invaluable professional experience here.
- Working on large projects to rebuild the country. - The constant e-mails and offline chatmessages of friends whenever something happens here. |
Spend half the day driving and listening to the radio.
Being able to take my time. Never in a rush to get to the next task. No supervision. Work out of my house. Only have to go to the office for training sessions. |
The people I work with. This has been consistent throughout the labor.
|
I have a lot of perks to my job, as listed below:
- I get to be online 12 hrs a day. - I get to travel on the companies bill - I get a company vehicle - I get to drink on the company dollar - I make pretty good money. ( not great but ok ) - and last but not least.. I have the chance to move up in the company to better myself for my future. |
Hugs, smooches, cuddles, singing silly songs, playing games, and watching kids grow.
Plus, kids say the darndest things. |
Knowing that the minute something better comes along I can tell my boss to shove this low-paying job right up his ass.
|
In the current economic climate I'm grateful to have a job.
I cant say I enjoy it much. |
I work at a distribution center for retail sunglasses sold throughout the United States and beyond.
The advantages: - I work 40+ hours a week, making well over Florida's minimum wage. - My benefits are decent; three weeks of paid vacation, along with an average medical, dental and vision package. - It's a fairly easy job; I'm just on my feet all day. - My boss and I get along great (I'll buy her lunch some days, and she'll return the favor, we joke around, etc.). - When things are slow, we goof off. - Being this is the south, the 'southern hospitality' thing really works here... I've never met so many individuals willing to go out of their way to help you. - I've had several promotions and raises since I've started there two years ago. - I work five minutes away from home. - Mah momma works there, who sometimes bails me out with my ignorant co-workers! :p The disadvantages: - Some of my co-workers are snippity little pricks, who think they're the boss. - Occasionally, things get hectic and due to the economy, we're understaffed, so we all have to take twice the workload. - Standing for 8 hours on a cement floor really hurts the back. - Having to be to work by 7AM is hard work for this night owl (that's nothing major, though)! - I get paid bi-weekly, which is a bummer. |
I work in a dishroom, in the spirit of optimism though:
1. I don't have to deal with customers 2. Except when they use us as spares for everything else management really doesn't ever even come back to where we are 3. The cooks love us since we'll wash anything they need on the spot 4. Since we're a golden corrall style cafeteria we're provided a meal with our break |

The best part about my job is definitely not the pay, but rather the experience.
I consider myself endlessly lucky to have found a PhD program in my precise field of interest where I get to work alongside some brilliant minds and kind people. |
My job has incredible flexibility in terms of when/from where I can work
|
Right now I control a $1.1 million budget. I'm making deals on behalf of the company that will affect the company for many years after I leave. It's a real legacy.
