Good drinking games
Does anyone still play drinking games, or is that too immature???
I have a few i like to play, but they're a little hard to explain using words. Anyone have some effective simpler ones? If theres a big sports game on (usually AFL) whenever one of our nominated peoples gets the ball or whatever you have to skull a bit. ..... |
We play sometimes, Jack, but we usually drink faster than the game requires anyway.
|
lol, yeah it seems when anyone has to drink everyone skulls anyways. Although the other week when Freo played Essendon, my friend got James Hird who kicked a few goals and had 25 odd possesions so he was fairly trashed by the end of the game, and consequently ready to go out afterwards :p
|
THREE MAN IS AN OLD FAVORITE. If you have enough people presidents and assholes is really fun. and the old school quarters is always conductive to gettin oiled.

ok if you need a game that requires you to drink more... watch any baseball game and drink up every time you hear the words "balls" or "strikes". If your not in an alcohol induced coma by the 7th inning your probably watching hockey. |
Asshole is always fun...
Can't beat a good game of quarters, though. Hmm... quarters kind of screwed up my new years plans though. Stupid boys and their stupid drinking which leads to them stupidly passing ou :( |
@Midlandmadman
lol, i don't think that Baseball idea would be too good, would get trashed quite quickly. Is Asshole a card game? if so, i've played it before. I got schooled though, cause i didn't know the rules/shortcuts/loopholes too well :p Also, keep in mind that its possible to drink responsibly, despite responsible drinking appering somewhat of an oxymoron. |
no way!
i was about to recommend AFL as a drinking game, with it being finals time and all! Rugby is my game, (and therefore our drinking game of choice) so back at school there used to be some terribly rancid nights. these days, of course, i´m far more mature (no, seriously)... haha... |
@bundy
so you will support sydney this weekend? ....hmmm i don't really care for rugby, i try to like it, but it doens't work with me, although it never gets shown here (perth) ata reasonable hour anyway.... I myself do actually go for Brisbane and have done since 95' (no fucking bandwagon, ahh, i get that all the time nowadays!) so i hope they crush sydney :p Basketball would be another good sport game, also cause i am a huge fan, but they don't really show much basketball, even the NBL...... |
jack, i´m definitely going for the swannies this weekend.
its going to be close. be we know we can do it. |
There are the other TV related games...
Hi Bob... watch Bob Newhart and everytime someone says "Hi Bob" everyone drinks Chug Boat... Everyone picks a character on Love Boat, and every time he/she is on screen, the person drinks. (This is also effective with shows like Threes Company, etc) And maybe the dumbest of them all... Red and Black. Get a deck of cards, one person picks red, the other black. Flip cards one at a time and when your color comes up, you drink. For more people you can also add the even-odd and face-number options. |
My favorite are the Simpsons drinking game, the Iron Chef drinking game, and the Star Wars drinking game. Rules for the first two can be found online.
The Star Wars game works with Eps. 4-6. You drink every time Luke whines, every time someone says "the Force", every time someone says "Darth" or "Vader" or "Darth Vader" (Darth Vader together is three drinks) . . . . I love the absolute horror that can be experienced during drinking games. ;) When you get to the point where you're saying to yourself: "Ohmygod, I can't take a drink. I can't take a drink! But if I don't take a drink now, I'm gonna have to catc- fuck, now I have to take two drinks! What'm I gonna do?" and you end up finishing the one you've got and going for another, thereby missing three more times that you have to make up for. ;) |
Hey you aussies.
What about "Wheel of Goonie"? Or isn't that played anymore? |
wheel of goonie?
is that a mix of wheel of fortune and goon or something? sorry, never heard of it, could you elborate? i haven't had goon for a while though :p |
is that the one where you hang a goon bag from the hills hoist and spin it around?
yes, i believe i´ve played that one... the very thought of goon still makes me want to vomit. or is it something related to guessing the colour of Sophie Faulkners dress or something?? |
Ahh brilliant stuff there bundy.
The bladder of a Fruity lexia (or equivilant) is swung round and round on the old hills hoist. It stops You drink Round and round it goes. One of many reasons I don't drink much wine these days. |
Fuck the dealer:
Line up 1 of each card(2-ace) First person next to the dealer guesses a card(probably in the middle) they guess 8, the card, as the dealer knows it, is a 5, he says "lower" person guesses 4, 5 is 1 away from 4, so he drinks one. you continue around till you go 3 people w/o the card being guessed, and then pass the deal. however, if the card is guessed right the first time, dealer drinks 5. Guessed right the second time, its 3....get it? |
Hah, you guys got my two old favorites right away: Asshole and quarters.
I don't drink anymore, but damn those were fun! |
What about good old Beirut/Beer pong?
Anyone? |
Here's a personal favorite of mine. I found it on some webpage... I can't remember where.
Spaceballs: The Drinking Game 1 drink:
Of course if we don't have time to sit down and watch a movie, we just drink everytime one of our friends tells us to. That can get to be pretty brutal though. |
assholes and presidents
|
quarters, fuck the dealer, and if the sorority girls are around "flippee cup".
flip cup: 2 teams of 4 lined up down the table. start at one end and fill cups up like 1/4 the way. someone says go and the first people chug, set the cup down, and try to flip it from bottom up to upright using the side of the table and flipping it with your fingers. when they flip it upright, it moves to the next person. repeat sequence until you get to the last person. the first team that gets all players to flip their cups first wins. then you start over with the next people down the line. |
I used to play Flip Cup with my neighbors, the more people the better this works. Here's how I understood it working, usually I'm so lost in drinking games I just keep drinking whenever's convenient.
But so, there's two teams of however many people want to be on a team (preferably even teams). One person starts... They slam their cup (if we felt like getting really drunk the cups would be filled to the brim, otherwise just filled less than halfway), after slamming their cup they put it on the edge of the table and try to flip it so it lands on the top half. Once the cup lands on the top half the next person slams their drink and proceeds to do the same thing. And whichever team finishes drinking first laughs and ridicules the other team!!! Great for huge parties, cause then you can start having tournaments, and what not, but usually it's such a drunken mess that people are just hopping in and out as they please. Don't play this game if you want to keep the area you're playing in even remotely clean. Asshole is always fun too, have some interesting stories about asshole playing nights, but that's a different thread whatsoever. |
I always liked drug dealer, quarters, super quarters (or chandalier), and asshole.
Here is a great list of games to play with low to high buzz factors: CLICK HERE!!! |
100 shots is a cool game.
You drink a shot of beer every minute till you get to 100. I spose it's not really that much of a game but it's a good way to get you and a bunch of mates really drunk. |
I haven't played many drinking games myself, my group of friends is too hard to organise sensibly to play the games properly, but there's a list of drinking games using cards, coins and dice here
|
Try 'Beer Cricket'. For every drink you have is 20 runs. light drinks dont count. Every time you pee is a wicket. If you throw up you declare your innings. The plan is to have the highest score without being all out (10 wickets). It doesnt neccassarly get you drunk fast but it is good for long drinking sessions. Its heaps funny watching people struggling to hold onto their bladders and then you have the people who want to get ahaed on runs so drink faster etc
|
My favorite game is Circle of Death. Lay all 52 cards out in a circle, and make up rules before hand for each type of card. You can change the rules, such as red=give that many drinks, black=take, 9=rhyme time, where you go around and the last person that can't come up with a rhyme quickly drinks, 10 =questions; some card is truth, some card=dare/I've never/take off an article of clothing/make a rule/whatever. You can change the rules for what is appropriate for the situation. Then everyone just takes turns picking a card and looking on the rule sheet to see what to do. It's pretty flexible, doesn't get you too drunk, and is conducive to fun with small groups.

I play a lot of TV drinking games. Pick a show and set like 10 triggers (things that happen often) and when it happens start drinking.
|
Asshole and I Have Never are the two that reign supreme among my friends.
|
Couple games we play. (Both outside beer drinking games)
First: Put two poles in the ground. Distance is up to you (usually around 20 feet) Sit a empty beer can on top of each pole. The pole is usually 4 feet high when put in the ground. Now, you have one person by each pole. Using a frisbee, you try to knock the empty beer can off of the pole. If you knock the can off of the pole the other person drinks his beer. If you miss the pole but the other person doesn't catch the frisbee he drinks a beer. If you hit the ground before getting it to the other pole you drink a beer. And the game goes on until neither person can throw a frisbee. Game #2 Place two full beers (not open) (got to be cans) on the ground about 20 feet apart. One person stands by each beer. Using three darts you throw them at the full beer (one at a time). If you hit the beer (puncture it) the other person must pick up the beer and chug it. Do this until you puke. j/k. |
http://www.webtender.com/handbook/games/mexican.game
Takes a bit to catch onto, but once understood, quite a competitive game. Requires people, beer and dice. Mid buzz factor. Someone arbitrarily goes first by rolling the dice. The score for the dice is as follows: 2 & 1 = Mexican, the highest possible roll. If you throw one of these, the eventual loser has to drink double the standard drinking quantity being used for the game. Each subsequent mexican in that round will double the required drink for loser. More easily understood later. 3 & 1 = scumbag the thrower immediately has to consume one drink. This throw does not count as one of the thrower's goes. Any double 100 times the double i.e., double 1 scores 100, double 2 scores 200 etc. Any other throw The highest number multiplied by 10 + the smallest number i.e., 5 & 4 scores 54, 6 & 1 scores 61 etc. The starter has the choice of one, two of three rolls to obtain the best score they can. The starter's score is the score of their last throw i.e., if you throw a 61 then 63 with your first two throws and elect to take a third throw, you must count the third throw even if it's lower. Every other player in the game has the choice of throwing up to as many times as the starter i.e., if the starter takes one throw, all other players have only one throw. Holding a dice - if a player has more than one throw available, they may hold a 1 or a 2 (if thrown) for subsequent throws i.e., if you have 2 or 3 throws and you throw a 4:1 on your first go, you may, if you wish, only pick up the 4 and throw it as your next go. This tactic will increase your chance of a mexican, while also increasing your chance of a low score or scumbag. If you throw a scumbag you may not hold the 1. The loser is the person who throws the lowest score. In the event of a tie, all players with the lowest score must roll one dice and the lowest number loses. Play as many rounds as desired. I had fun playing this game. |
Caps... Anybody ever played caps?
Two players (could be many more in a round robin tourney format), sit 10 or so feet apart with a small amount of beer in cups infront of the them. Then you attempt to throw beer bottle caps into each other's cup. If you make it in and your opponent does not, your opponent drinks his cup and refills. Keep score, play to 13. Once you start losing, it is pretty hard to recover. |

Yea caps is pretty popular. My brother plays a more advanced game that adds on and piles up.
|
My favorite drinking game is to see how much I can drink before I pass out.
|
Flip cup, or beer pong, or Never Have I Ever. Great times.
|
quarters is my game of choice, if you get three in row in then you get to make rule such as no saying anyones names, its a thing of beauty when you're good at it and can rule everyone else
|
Last xmas a long time buddy of mine was over with his girlfriend and had a great idea for a game. It was both of them and my girlfriend and I, and we watched Minority Report... and everytime they said "but", we took a shot of Yukon Jack whiskey (not 100% whiskey, but it works). Having 4 people, we were all shit faced by the end of the movie. Less than 4 is a bad idea.
So just pick a random word out and watch a movie with some people, take shots. Lots of laughs. |
