I shower every day and wash my hair every 2-3 days. I have really short hair. It doesn't get very oily or itchy.

I secrete way too much oil to leave it for more than a day and have anything but a greasy mess on my head, so I wash it every day that I care how it looks, which is every work day and any weekend where I leave home and care to look presentable to anyone who matters.
