PAY FREEZE!!!!!

Damn them!! I've been on a pay freeze for almost 2 years and I thought I saw the sun beaming over the horizon and I just found out that that is not the case. That I have been lumped into the another group with a later time frame.

Granted as a graphic artist in this time of economic woe I am glad to have a job. I have watched co-workers crumble all around me. Seen my floor empty and be refilled again. I stuck through, head up waiting for the circle to become complete. I've played the games ra ra ra we want a better economy ra ra re kick him in the other knee.

I'm just pissed.

Oh well I start school in 3 weeks. Midlife career change.

I should be finding out my raise in about 3 weeks. Odds are I'll be in the same boat - no soup for me!!! In the IT field, I'm in agreement with you that I'm just happy to have a job.

been frosen for 4-5 years! I doesn't matter. I have learned to adapt, become a better consumer and lessen the waste, in other words tighten my belt.

Oh well, at least prices for computers and consumer electronics and cars have also frozen or come down in the past few years. Too bad we can't say the same for housing, medical care, or the cost of education.

Nor the cost of gas. And trust me, I'm as thrifty as they get. Plus I work at night to bring in extra moola.

We've been on a freeze since July 01. But this april the freeze was lifted and depending on your hire date you were in one of two pools: April and October review schedules. I was informed that since I recieved a promotion right before the freeze that i along with only a handful of other people have been put in a third pool of individuals awaiting review/rate increase until April 04.

Working for my old company (In the Tech industry) I had been on a pay freeze for 3 years and had survived 2 years worth of large scale cuts. Unfortunately I didn't survive the latest cut. Ah well..time for a job change anyway.

Things are looking better. But people are still iffy about hiring. After stretching employee workloads and seeing that employees in fear of losing their jobs have managed to stay on top... whats the point of hiring more people.

Ahhh.. Remember the days of 5 digit bonuses and a hefty pay increase every year... Well like a majority of you those day are long gone for me. Working in the financial arena where the stock market plays a big part, those days will not be back until the stock market turns around. And who knows how long that will be... Don't get me wrong. I'm still happy to be employed but you would think that an employer would at least give a cost of living raise every other year at the minimum....

Nothing this year - first year I haven't seen a raise since... well... forever. IT industry is dry in my area, too.
