Here's the idea... given to me by a friend who told me not to follow her advice... let's get a bunch of Southern California TFP geeks and have a lunch one Saturday. Then, a couple weeks later, do it again. Then again...

Let me know if any of you peeps in LA/OC are into it. I am thinking we can meet at some little mall with a quizno's or a baja fresh and a few tables. Just chat over a quesadilla and get to know eachother without this damn confounding internet between us.

Anyone know of any good (safe) locations? I assume most of OC is pretty benign, but I was hoping not to drive that far considering I'm up in VC. Let's get this assembled fairly quick. The first meeting doesn't need more than 3 peeps.. no rush, this thing will grow in time. Let's do this before October.

I'm pretty close to San Diego county so OC would probably be the best/most central location.

San Fernando would likely be as far as I would want to go... At least I could drag my friend TheClarkster along with me so it wouldn't be quite so awkward. :)

SFV is kiddie steps... LA/OC is nothin' if you know you're gonna enjoy yourself.

hehe well I'm a newbie, I don't know enough people here suitably yet to know for sure i'd enjoy myself anyways. :p Maybe after a month I'd find OC being worth the drive.:)

I'm new too and don't know anybody from TFP except Hal, but I live in OC so I would swing by for a drink no problem.

Well the idea is to meet people. It doesn't matter if you're new to TFP or not. You would be going in order to get to know people better. Try to blur the lines between internet and material life a little.

I'm up for that. We should meet in the South Bay somewhere, like Hermosa or Redondo Beach. This way it will be a pretty even drive for those coming up from down south...or we can just have a party at my place:cool: I don't mind hosting it.

Oh...now that we're on the subjsct of meeting....whos up for an Angels game??

Is Tony's a restaurant where we can just show up without a set amount of people and just chill?

Not really, it's a fine seafood restaurant. But on the pier they have another place where you can chill and eat(self serve)

There are several nice hangouts down there.

That's weird; I can't make it, either. A last minute trip puts me out of town this weekend...
