Longer Hair On Guys
Girls, what do you think about longer hair on guys? I have talked with some of my female friends about this and most of them say it's sexy when done right. I myself have longer hair, and while sometimes it's a hassle i wouldn't get rid of it for anything. So what do you girls think?

I'm a guy, but just giving what some of my (girl) friends have said.
My hair used to be pretty long for lazy teenage shag, maybe a few inches long at the top, and it covered my ears/eyebrows when it was down. Most of my girl friends thought that I should cut it short and spike it. However, my girlfriend prefers it longer. I think it's because she can fiddle with it, while everyone else just has to. . .look. |

I'm not a girl, but I'm going to answer this question anyway.
For about 10 years I had long hair. It was down to my waist. Long, blond, curly hair. Girls LOVED it. lurkette loved it. I finally got sick of it and cut it, about two years ago. I don't regret that decision, exactly, but there are times when I wish I had it back. |

It's definitely sexy when it's done right (i.e., clean, not stringy, kept trimmed up, not in a mullett). I loved and envied Ratbastid's long hair. Sigh.

I had sort of long hair once. I didn't go about it the right way, though. I just decided one day that I was no longer going to get my hair cut. It took me about a year to actually break down and have it cut again. Needless to say, by then my hair was all over the place. |

Long hair is nice when clean and well trimmed. If it's just scraggley it looks like the guy is just too lazy to have it cut and to wash it. I've known guys who even have enough to make a long cue. I like it and it makes a man attractive to me to have long CLEAN trimmed hair. I like men shaved bald too so I guess hair isn't a big deal to me. No rainbow clowny colors though please.

I totally agree with Double D, I have such a weakness for guys with long hair, anything past or touching the shoulders, just something extra to grab a hold of. It's one of the first things I notice on a guy.
Mullets= Icky Stringy, unkept hair=Icky I have naturally long curly hair and it's a pain in the butt, so I understand the frustrations but, I suggest keeping it and keeping it long Last edited by Rowan; 09-01-2003 at 11:12 AM.. |

Very true! And if the guy doesn't wear it long, then my preference is short and spikey. However, what is most important is that the guy feels good about how he appears. The most attractive feature on a man is his attitude.

I had long hippy hair for a few years and it was great. I think that I wan't taken so seriously when it was long though. I'd love to have long hair again, but I don't think I can do it anymore. I'm starting to get thinner up top. Enjoy it while and if you can!

Mmmmm, love long hair on a guy! Like everyone here has already stated, when it's cut right and well groomed, long hair on a guy is just stunning. I've always preferred long hair over short. I'm not sure why, maybe it's my love of the middle ages, or maybe it was Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall. Either way, guys, grow out your hair!

i had long hair, and then dreads for about 10 years. Chicks hated the long curly hair, but loved the dreads. Conclusion: long hair is only cool if unkempt. well kept long hair on a guy is gay anyway.
I was afraid I couldn't get laid if I cut off my dreads. But I didn't care enough to keep 'em. Nothing seems to have changed with short hair, but the cops don't pay any attention to me anymore. |

my wife won't let me cut my hair, my hair goes down to almost my waist....my initial MTV id picture is of me with short hair.. when I cut it for 2 years when I was out looking for a job in the mid90s. she says it would severely deteriorate the "fun zone" time.

For about 30 years, I've worn my hair about an inch below the collar. I'm not the best groomer in the world, but I keep it clean and it's got a natural wave. My wife loves it, and often discourages me from going to the barber "too soon."

I used to have really long hair. I've had it at all lengths and short seems to suit me now(but still just a bit Beatles-esque). I've found that the ladies seem to greatly prefer short hair. In Mexico, though, they really loved the long hair. Don't ask me why. Cultural difference, I guess.

Right now I've got fairly long hair.. just got it cut a bit so tis not AS long as it was, was close to my shoulders for a while. Its kind of cool.. because my bangs right now if I pull them down go about to the tip of my nose, but when I let go it springs back up=P /shrug I am happy with it.
I tend to find that older women compliment me on my hair more often than younger.. might be a generational thing. (I'm 18 myself) ha when I was a bit younger and it was longer.. if I brushed it out I had a fro to be reckoned with=P

I've had short hair all my life, finally been letting it grow out for a bout a year now.
I've noticed a difference. The style is coming back. Alot of girls love it.

I can't stand when my hair grows out longer than a like 4 inches. I usually keep it pretty well trimmed, but when it gets longer it's much harder to take care of.
*luff for my short, curly, blond hair*

long hair on guys looks great depending on the guy and the style, that and of course keeping it clean and getting a trim every now and then
my boyfriend doesn't have really long hair, but it isn't short although he just told me today that he cut it short, i have mixed feelings about whether i want to see it or not i liked having something to play with

I cut my hair recently after having it quite long for a while. It wasn't that long, my friends started calling me Sunshine, because i looked like the guy (called Sunshine) in the Remeber the Titans movie.
Anywho, I washed it everyday, but it became a bit of a nuisance when i play basketball, although wasn't too bad. I mainly cut it for a change. The girl i like seems to like it better short, but i don't think that changes anything else |

I think it'll be good to grow it long again. For those cold winter nights, something to keep me warm. Too bad there is that strange mid-phase, where it is too long for it to look good, but too short to do anything with. Lasts only a couple months, though. Yeah, I think I'll do that. |

I used to get that all the time. It was funny the first 200 times, then got annoying. The seriousness part, I think came down to me just building my credibility. Once that happened, I became well known for getting results and things accomplished. I was always taken seriously. I want my hair to be long and white, think Sephiroth from Final Fantasy. Asian culture equates long hair with wisdom, Western culture equates white hair with wisdom. I want to put the two together.

Well, I figured I'd go for the long hair look, just to try it out. In my small town, no guys have long hair. So I thought I'd be different. And I'm still not sure that I wouldn't look good with long hair, but the actual growing-it-out stage is what sucked ass, so I finally had to cut it. I had the whole Beatle look going, and I looked fucking ridiculous, I'm so glad I cut it. Although, if I could, I would wake up tomorrow with long hair for one day just to check it out. But I don't think I'll ever have long hair, cause I hate the period between short and long, it was so gay.
