Halloween Costume (first thread...please work)

I have been thinking about a halloween costume using an LCD monitor mounted on my chest and a webcam mounted on my back. Once the 'puter and cam are working, and with the apropriate hole in my clothing, it should appear as though there is a hole in my chest. Of course, I'll need lots of fake blood and guts to complete the effect. I'm just not sure I have the technical ability to pull this off. Any thoughts or ideas? What is the wildest costume you have made/worn or seen?

A friend of mine was a cactus once... it's not funny unless you know the story.

He was coming back from Vegas with a few friends still pretty drunk and got pulled over. When the cop asked if he was drunk he said, "No, I'm a cactus."

I think that sounds like a cool idea. Get a light laptop though, since it sounds like a heavy getup.

One of my friends spent 3 weeks telling everyone he would go as a giant beer bottle. Then a giant beer bottle showed up, and we all assumed it was him, but it was actually his girlfriend, who we had made some pretty raunchy comments to thinking it was him. Not really wild, but it was funny as hell.

So technically he was "cactus".

We use that term a lot down here.

I want to dress up as a sheep and carry around a bible and wear a crucifix necklace or something... only problem is calling a religious person a sheep isn't necessarily as derrogatory as I'd like it, since they'll view it as "Jesus is the shepard of the world" or whatever and they'll think I'm sincerely religious or something. What a dilema. Not everyone has a negative connotation attatched to the term sheep like me...:/

Don't care my friends will get it so I'll probably still dress up that way.:)

The monitor will have to be battery powered with RCA plugins.

So while it may sound cool, it also may be technically difficult/expensive.

i don't think the laptop would be so heavy as much as the batteries you'd have to carry to power the whole thing for the night.

about 25 years ago, a friend of my wife dressed himself up as a penis with large balls. he made the costume big enough to allow himself a little room inside for a couple of beers and a couple of cans of whipped cream. the whipped cream could be hooked to a plastic tube which went out the "head", so he could cream every preety girl he met.

fantastic idea... but it may be a wee bit hard to organise... not to mention expensive... but good luck to you, gret idea.

best costume i´ve ever seen... thats got to be the Drag Queen costumes at Sydneys Mardi Gras... oh so glam, and quite scary really.

This year, I'm thinking Grim Reaper. Should be interesting. Heather's already got the pattern started, I think.

Last year I was Jesus (yeah I know I'm going to hell), grew my beard out for a while, and bought a nice wig. Even better was after who knows how many jello shots, and beers, and shots and what not I was worshiping the porcelain god. This year I could always fall back on my Jesus costume (was going to start growing the beard now so I could exercise my options), but I'm also thinking of dressing up as Pablo Escobar. And a full Chewbacca get-up has always been an idea.

One year I went to school with one of those silver drama/theater masks, and in the middle of my math test started spewing blood all over the place (fake blood). Then, handed in my bloody test, and walked out leaving the back corner an awful mess for the next class to enjoy. Went into the girls bathroom and left my mark too.

If you want, I could make that costume for you for about $1500. Laptop would be too bulky. Need a stand alone lcd screen, not even a monitor. also the cam would need to be an ir cam or use an led lighting source. You are going to be in the dark for most of the evening so you would need either of these for lighting purposes. Battery pack actually wouldn't be too difficult. Could set one up in a fanny pack or something else non-intrusive. The actual draw is not that great, the cam is minimal and the screens we use are also quite conservative. I'm going to assume you would not want to spend so much so I'd start looking for a new costume.
