Two wings, one propeller, 4 seats
Got my private pilot's license some three years ago, my instrument rating last year. Flying Cessna 172s out of various Bay Area flying clubs.
Anyone else out there fly? Or any obsessive Flight-Sim users that would kill to try the real thing? |

Oh landing the thing is easy. All you have to remember is that you need to be going slowly when you cross the threshold, something like 1.3 x stall speed (the slowest speed it will fly at). Once you are certain that you are going to make the runway, kill the power, and try not to land. Just keep on bringing the nose up (gently) so that you float a few feet above the runway until you run out of air under the wings. The back wheels should just settle gently onto the runway. Now you brake - gently!
Now if there's a crosswind, well that's a different matter. |
