Well actually I dunno cause I never went to the doctor but there was a lot of blood I just let my wound heal by itself. I have a rather small scar on my thigh now it was bigger before but as I grew older it became smaller. Ouch its not a very nice thing to get burned thanks for sharing. One of my fears in life is getting burned alive.

if im thankful for nothing else its that i was wearing shorts at the time but it was painful to move at all for the next week, and itchy for another week. Still have some scarring on my chest from it. can look back and laugh now though

I rear ended a day care bus cuz the lady didnt turn on her turn signal before she turned and I didnt have enough warning to stop. The kids were ok but my poor Zippy was totaled and I was very shaken and my neck hurt.

The worst was when I was 7 and tried to do a spinning jump into the swimming pool. My chin hit the edge. I got 10 stitches out of it. I've been pretty lucky avoiding accidents in my life.

college weekend - ex wife driving our vw bug on a 6 lane - me in passenger seat - she loses control - car flips end over end 5 times - she is thrown 150 feet to the other side of the road - I stay in the car and spin 5x times inside it - time slows down - car lands and rolls to a stop on the other side of the road - we don't have a scratch - car is totaled beyond recognition - cop says if I was wearing a seat belt I would have been killed for sure...

While snowboarding, I went off a 20 foot cliff, when I landed I doubled over and my face slammed into my knee with enough force to knock me unconscious, break my nose in 2 places, fracture my upper jaw, knock 2 teeth back, get a concussion, 2 black eyes, and very scabby bloody lips. And somehow, I rode about 150 yards while knocked out...

Lots of accidents.
Horse jumped on our family car when I was 2 1/2. No injuries to me, but my mom had two crushed vertebrae and my sister had glass all up and down her head, neck and back. When I was 4, we were playing dodgeball and I had the bright idea of using an old license plate as a "shield." Ball thrown at me, I raise the "shield" and it cuts into my forehead. 25 stitches. When I was 5 I was running through the kitchen, slipped and fell face first into the open rack of the dishwasher. Still have scar from where a metal spoke poked all the way through my right cheek. When I was 9 I was rollerblading and a twig stuck between two wheels as I turned - my ankle got turn all the way around. On crutches for 3 weeks. When I was 13 I broke my toe as I landed toes-first from a jumping front kick in Tae Kwon Do. Split the toe nail in half, too. When I was 16 I stabbed myself with a very, very large knife in the side of hand while opening a can of beans. 16 stitches, and the hole was so deep you could see the ligaments for my fingers when I moved them. That's all I can think of for now.

When I was like 10 I didn't have a lot of friends.
I would hang out in the yard and throw the football way up in the air and catch it, acting as if I was a receiver scoring a touchdown. then I landed on a nine inch rusty nail. went through my knee and I had to go to the hospital. luckily, It missed the cartilage by milimeters, and they numbed my knee and just pulled the nail out. If it had been just a little more angled, I would have had to had quite a surgery. I got really lucky and only had to have a tetanis shot. |

When I was riding my bike to junior high, i was going down the hill in the bike lane, and my front wheel caught a groove in the asphalt and led me into the curb. I felt head-first into the bricks that lined the planter beyond the sidewalk. Got the whole ambulence treatment and everything once drivers stopped to help. Kids at school thought I had died. I'm ok.

Worst accident I've ever been in was when I was riding my push bike as a kid.. In a brief episode of ineptness, I accidently got some of my toes caught in the between the chain and the spokes and mangled them quite badly.
I stumbled into a nearby fast food outlet, where transport to a nearby hospital was arranged. Some quick stitching later, I managed to keep all of my toes, and now I have an interesting story to tell youngsters I see riding their bikes.

When I was taking my driver's license, another young man drove into my rear. I had a joint in my back pushed something like 1,5cm to the right. At that time, I didn't know that anything was wrong, so I went to a friend's house and we got utterly drunk. Same evening we decided to jump off a bridge naked... which at that time seemed like a perfectly good idea to do. All in all it resulted in a permanent back damage, which makes my spine go into cramps a couple of times a week. Not at all pleasent, but then again: I had to learn it, didn't I?

eh, lets see, i imitated a soft toy and hit my head hard on a sharp edge of a marble table and had over, erm, 12 switches.
Fell into a drain while biking. Twice. Hurt my groin the second time. So much for backwards-handles. Feeling goofy, not well, i guess i had some sorta hallucianation of sort, simply toppled over, head first into a glass-panaled bookcase. Smashed the glass with my forehead; shoulder's fleash split open , approx 5 inch scar , i had scrapped past some wooden object )no idea what) and the friction went thru even my shirt and cut my skin. Strangely, my head only got a bruise, no blood. Talk about being a blockhead, heh. And lots and lots of sprains. One of the worst being about 9, i landed on my finger while screwing around the playground, swelled to over 3 times the original size, turned blue-black, bruised. I think i fractured a bone, maybe tore a ligament, couldn't write for 2 months. But i let it heal by itself, no professionasl help. |

I was the passenger in a car that hit a car that ran a red light in front of us. We kind of rolled off the car and hit a telephone pole. We were not wearing seatbelts. I hit the windshield with my head, and my left side cracked the console in front of us. I had 50 stitches in my head, concussion, 3 highly bruised ribs, and a broken finger. I had pain for 10 years after that accident. I also had short-term memory problems for a few weeks.

When I was like four, i used to build pyramids out of glasses - on one occasion (and prolly my last), the baby sitter distracted me... needless to say, the pyramid came toppling down, shattered glass everywhere - and one got me in the fore arm... got 10-12 stitches (dont know how many actually - i dont remember, and the scar is beginnning to grow faint).
On another occasion, prolly a year and a half later, everytime my dad came home from work, we used to play hide-and-seek. So this one time, he came home, and I sped off to hide somewhere, and slipped... landed with my chin on the cold hard floor, and got like 4 stitches. On some other occassion, I was riding my bike outside my house (and we live in a hill), so the slope was fairly steep... I fell off the bike and landed face-first on the ground until I came to a stop. My left cheek was a total mess, you could see the living flesh... You can still see some little scars from where I scraped my cheek against the ground...

Riding my bike down a hill, foot slipped off pedal, foot hit ground, tread on shoe caused foot and leg to stop moving, bare leg caused bike to stop moving. 13 teeth of the gear went into the back of my leg. 6 years later, i still have scars.

True story: In the third grade I was stabbed in the white of my left eye with a pencil and I still have the graphite markings to prove it. In my freshman year in highschool, I failed to fasten an x-acto blade to the handle and stuck myself in the finger while sharpening a pencil with it, also leaving a permanent graphite mark. Nothing terribly gorey, but still pretty horrific.

I once head-butted a basketball pole. I was landing from a jump and leaned forward hard to keep my balance...right into the pole. My vision went white for a few seconds, and I stumbled around a bit. Scalp wounds are bloody, kids. I still have a scar, but you can't see it under the hair.
I also once burned a finger on a car cigarette lighter. Fuck, that hurt. Still have the scar. Then there's the time I fractured a finger when a basketball hit it head on while my finger was rigid. Couldn't make a fist for like two weeks after that. Incidentally, all three of these events happened in the same year, in junior high. I haven't experienced anything that bad since, besides the occasional party where I drink too much and pledge to God that I'll never take another sip if he just lets me live through the night . Oh, but there was the time in grade school that I put a staple right through my fingernail. That hurt a bit as well. I'm actually not that accident-prone, believe it or not.

When I was younger (like 4-5) my uncle was pushing me on a swing, the kinds the bigger kids used. Well he turned around to talk to someone and I fell off of the swing. Meanwhile the swing is still swinging, so when I finally get to my knees (not too long after falling) the swing is on it's way back down and meets my face a bit to the left of my mouth. It must've hit me pretty hard because it left a nice scar which, to this day, is still there.

wife made some brownies, and she can make some great treats, well she put them in the fridge and the next morning i needed a snack - for breakfast, so i tried to get them out of the pan, but they seemed "stuck", so i grabbed a steak knife and tried to pry a slice out, well the knife slipped and stabbed me in the hand. I went to the emergency room to have it stiched up. But to make matters worse the woman behind the counter kept calling my 18 month old son princess. First thing i did after leaving the hospital was to get my son a haircut.

Once upon a time...

I was snorkelling in the Mediterranean ocean. It was a calm, sunny July as we swam about. I was the last to get into the motorboat. The people in charge, against my better judgement,
recommended I get in the back. As I climbed in, I slipped, hitting the gear leaver on the side of the engine. Suddenly the water was a whole lot warmer. I looked into the ocean, and a small piece of flesh went past. Since we had been fishing, I thought nothing of it and climbed in the side of the boat. Swinging my left leg up, the people in the boat all made shocked noises. Looking down, I saw My leg had been sliced clean right across the front, about 2cm from the knee. I looked at the wound. Looked at the driver and said "I think I need medical assistance" before falling into the boat. They stitched me up. 15 stiteches, I think it was, and I was fine, except that I have a numb patch all around that part below the knee where it hit the nerve. I was very lucky not to lose the leg. Or worse.

I fell asleep while driving with the cruise control set at 75 and piled into the back of a parked semi trailer along the Interstate in Florida.
I woke up in the hospital with broken ribs, cracked sternum (ouch!) concussion, hyper extended ankle, and a bunch of cuts and bruises. If you've ever broken ribs or cracked your sternum you learn quickly that coughing or laughing is a new adventure in pain! |

Just this January (29th) I was in a car accident.
I hit a patch of ice, went into a pole about 40 ft away. Wrapped the car around the pole and It took em 50 minutes to get me out (they used the jaws of life and cut off the roof and snipped the parts between the ront/back doors. I had a broken left femer, which I was told is pretty much the worst bone you can break, as its the largest weight bearing bone in your body. They also said teh doors were 30ft dow nthe road to either side.. (front doors) apparently they popped off lol.. When I woke up in the car(was knocked unconsious) I was sitting in the passenger seat and the thing at the base of the seatbelt was broken.. it was quite a scene=P They were gonna take me in the hellicopter(sp?) but the weather was too bad, so it didn't happen=/ Its pretty cool what they can do nowadays.. I got a titanium rod from hip to knee.. no cast, just some ace bandage lol. They had me starting pysical therapy just 2 days after the accident. oh the car was a 2000 VW golf. thats all i've got.. I was pretty lucky up to that point... and I was actually lucky just to get a broken leg I guess.. =)

I got hit in the head with the spiked end of a hammer when I was like 9 years old. It was a gusher, let me tell you. My whole body was pretty much covered in blood. We were doing the 'let's dig to China' thing in my friend's front yard, and one of the guys wasn't looking when he was using the hammer as a pick and nailed me in the noggin. The funniest thing is that I only needed ONE stitch because the gash was only a quarter inch or so long.
