Crossing the lines.
I recently found that I crossed the line
by encroaching on the womans forum. For this I am sorry. I read and felt a male's response might be helpful to questions raised in the woman's forum. I guess I must ask, do woman prefer to only be answered by woman? Were I, a male, to post a question, I know I would prefer answers from both sexes. Woman may have a point of view in which a man may never see. Again I appologize for entruding on the womans forum, and will not do so again. |
The only thing going on here is: You need to follow the RULES. The women are freely availible to post responses to your questions in OTHER forums, but the Ladies Lounge is JUST for ladies.
|
Yup, I made that mistake once.
Just once. The answer to your question (if I can be so bold) is an unqualified "YES". Women are different creatures than men and they want a place where they don't have to deal with men directly in their discussions, hence, the "Ladies Lounge". In the spirit of openess, communication and learning, men ARE allowed to READ there. |
Thank you for your response.
I will keep keep to my own areas. |
I've seen cases where a moderator will honor a request to contribute something informative and of relevance to the Ladies Lounge, giving you credit for the contribution without you posting directly to the forum; so in a way, you are not completely forbidden to add to the discussion as long as a lady moderator posts it for you, which means asking permission first.

If it's any consolation, the world is our bathroom...
|
I think if a woman wanted a response from both genders, then chances are she'd post it in a more general section.
|
Like collide said, I have contributed before in the Ladies Forum, but I did it through PM. That way I contributed and the individual got to hear/see my perspective. I have had a positive response back doing it that way. :)

Whoa, Glad I didn't do it. Feisty aint they.
|
Well.....
I have to say, that I am pleasantly surprised. Though surfing for many years, I had stayed away from chat rooms and from forums. For the reason... Rude people. Today I erred, got my hand slaped, and learned a lesson. The lesson learned? That there are people out there, who can answer an honest question, with thoughtful responses, without being Rude. My foray into forum, proved pleasing. Thank you. Someday, I must tell you, how, I got into the ladies lounge anyway. But, That, is another story. |
Eh...alright.

bobart....we ladies know that the men read the threads in the ladies lounge...that's fine. But, it's our only place to just hang with the girls and have only female input and views. We quite often ask questions or post ideas/comments where we want comments and opinions from both men and women but we do this in other forums where both sexes are welcome to comment. (ie. general forum/members/or sexuality/living)
Do we sit in the ladies lounge and bash men...nope. But, there are some topics or scenarios where we only want women's input. We aren't trying to be secretive or nasty or catty....but it is certainly nice to have our own little spot in a very male-oriented site to be able to talk about things that we don't necessarily want male input. Hope no-one takes offence to that...and none should be taken. :) |
i've never dared look in the ladies lounge! its the forbidden cherry!!!!
|
bobart, my friend, list to Minx. She won't lead you astray.
Glad to see that you've branched out to the other Forums. It's quite a community out here. |
Minx,
I think you explained that, very well. I do understand. I have worked twenty three years in an office where I am one of very few men, among many woman. At first my co-workers tried not to talk about , feminine things around me, mostly, not wanting to embarrass, Me. But it was obvious, fifty, or so, woman, should not have to change the way, they work , and interact with one another, Because they stuck a guy in with them. So, for twenty three years I have been just, one of the girls. All of us talking about, our families, our children, our relationships. When I found my way into the ladies lounge and perused some of the threads, I found myself.. Back at work, talking with the girls. I just..., jumped right in. So many of the questions, were things my friends and I had discussed. Breast enlargement, as an example, was often discussed. I was not excluded from such conversations. I had to learn. And, I do tend, to jump right in. As, I kinda' like to write. It may be best, I stick to, other forums. I do hope there are others In which I would feel as comfortable. And, To G_Whiz.. Good evening to you. I hope you and yours are well. |
