How Many Divorcees!!
 

Just curious if you have been divorced and how long were you married?? Im about to do the deed after 18 years! Found out she wanted a differant Slong than mine while I was TDY and also going behind my back at times! We have no kids so It will be pretty simple just split shit 50/50....its really kind of hard after so many years but I have seen worse cases than mine---many more years down the drain!!

Just went through a "do it yourself" divorce and was farely successful. I'm glad we avoided the lawyer cost and we only had a few disagreements. If necessary, we would have gone to a mediator. Married 11 years, 3 biological and 2 step children. Good luck!

Married at 19, still married at 31.....best part is I'm actually pretty damn happy. I'd say that by todays standards thats pretty rare. so, I'm proud of it.

Some people just get lucky and find "the one" the first time around...and, some don't...but I think that if your honest with yourself when looking for a mate, finding the right one can be easy.

Yeah... been there, done that... So you have my sympathy. I know how it can hurt, and how frustrating it is for you - how rejected and inadequate you'll feel just now.

Life DOES go on. You WILL meet someone else. In the long run it is for the best.

Incidentally, as a "New Divorcee" you are required to do the following things more or less in the following order.

1. Hook up with an ex-girlfriend - one that you came close to marrying. Have intense affair which involves jumping into bed too soon. Spend 6 weeks saying "If Only" to her & then dump her as you realise just why you didn't marry her in the first place :).

2. Purchase unfeasibly powerful sports / muscle car.

3. Have numerous one night stands including AT LEAST ONE with (i) a female under 21, and (ii) a female over 40.

4. have intense affair with an 18 year old & think you're recapturing your youth. Then dump her having learned that there IS a "Generation Gap" as it slams you right in the face. Still, she was fun and a good ego trip for a while.

After that you'll be more or less ready to settle down again :D. Of course, you may want to spend some time repeating steps 3(i) & 4 numerous times, just to make sure you get it right:D:D:D:D:D.

Married @22, divorced @25. No kids (thank god). The hardest thing I had to get over...

When we got married I thought that we'll be the ones who'll make the divorce statistics better... Than I had to face the truth...

But as I think I realize that I managed to complete almost all points from Mike's list... :)

I hear you, brother. My ex was banging half of VF-41 while I was deployed. Taught me a valuable lesson: No more Navy chicks. No kids, no real property to divide, we just signed the papers, paid the lawyer a few hundred bucks, she moved back to her trailer in Texas (Lesson #2: No more Texan trailer chicks who were already divorced once) and life went on.

Chalk up another "starter marriage". Wife 2.0 is everything the first one could never be, and I've never been happier.

About to get remarried to the man I should have met in the first place.

Lucky for me, we have "no fault" divorce laws where I reside. All you need is a minimum of 18 months separation, then file the paperwork (Law Libraries have the format to follow), pay the fee (cheaper than a lawyer), show up in court when asked, and *poof* you're divorced.

married 20 years - of that seperated 7starting on my 40th b-day - then divorced...
once was enough for me...
now my current and good lady, who's also divorced, and i figure why ruin a good friendship with a piece of paper...

married at 26, divorced at 30. thougth the same as peacy too.. BUZZZZZZZZ... wrong!!!!! i will admit that it was my fault and i'm sure she's till quite bitter. we have a beautiful daughter together so i dont wish it never happened.

remarried to an incredibly wonderful woman and have finally found happiness.

Married at 25, divorced at 28. At the time I would have had much more nasty, vindictive things to mention about her. Enough time has passed that I can shrug it off and say I've moved on and hope she has, too. (No kids). Did the no-fault summary disillusionment and never even saw a judge.

Im not going crazy over the deal..Im fine with it so far because of what she did..

I'm sorry, what is TDY, and when you say Slong, do you mean Schlong (like Beavis and Butthead say)?

And sorry to hear that man...I've never even considered marraige with anyone yet. But a lot of my friends are married and have kids and a couple of them have been pretty close to Divorce.

Married at 21 divorced at 22.. Never should have done it, I wasn't ready..

Remairred at 27.. Still at it, some day good, some bad.. I became quite the ass for a while.. Trying to make ammends..

First divorce was easy.. upsetting, buyt easy..

Umm TDY ( Temporary Duty assignment...military thing) and Slong as in Pecker, I guess I didnt spell it quite correctly..Ha, HA!! Man I do miss Beavis and Butthead ALOT!!!
