Hey poet! You could win $10,000

I'm so excited! I answered an e-mail and two of my poems have been selected for me to win a cash prize!!! I can even get a trophy (worth over $200) for only $78.00!!

Here they are

1) Ice is nice

2)Exciting exit

Little vegetable
you are so edible
but the work of my mandibles
creates something audible
Beans! Oh Beans
you wonderfull meal
when I eat you
my escape route squeals!

I really hate to be the one to tell you this, but they do send that to pretty much everyone who submits

Essentially, they publish probably 98% of the people who submit to them and then get you to buy the $80 book you were "chosen" to be published in

I really do hate to break it to you, cause poetry is cool and fun and all, but it'd suck to get suckered.

Of course, if you don't mind throwing away $80 to see your poem in print, there's nothing stopping you - but don't get your hopes up about any big prize or anything

Hmm... one of my friends told me the other day that she sent in a poem to a contest, and that she got selected to go to the finals, so her poem is being published. I wonder if this is the same thing, or something similar.

Been there, done that, decided to skip out on the T-shirt though. I've sent my poetry out before and got little emails saying I could go to Washington, DC and hear my poetry read, yada yada. Didn't believe much of it though.
