Well... some ladies were kind enough to explain this in some older thread in Tilted Sexuality, I think. There just aren't enough guys that remind women of their fathers, etc. A sort of Oedipus complex sort of thing. I'm not saying that this applies to ALL women, but it does seem to apply to a lot of women. So, if you want a gal, get to know her pops (if possible) and start acting like him! By the way, I think it also applies so men-- being attracted to women that remind him of his mother ('cuz this one gal I really like more than anything in the whole entire world kinda sorta really reminds me of me mum).

Maybe it's because too many of the guys are in the titty board instead of out meeting real girls. I imagine it is hard for a lot of guys to find girls that meet the criteria of girls they see in porn all the time. Plus, I think girls get turned off when you expect sex 10 seconds after you meet like in pornos.

It almost seems to me that some people are born into the wrong place or time. There are tons of single women overseas that can't seem to find a husband. Or can they not find a husband that can provide? There are men here who can't meet an American woman that they want to marry (I think they aren't trying hard enough but that is me). I met my wife through a fortuitous set of circumstances when I had just about given up on meeting anyone while in college. We met through a personal ad in a local newspaper. I only put it in because I was mad at the girl I was dating, and she only answered because she was about to graduate and hadn't dated but once all through college.

If people of both genders weren't as picky, everyone would be with someone (cept for 3% of women).
I know that there have been 2 girls that obviously liked me, but I didn't really like them. I probably shoulda dated one anyways if not for anything but experience with what not to do. |

I'd add however, that women & men are looking (consciously or not) for a partner that may have qualities of both parents. In my case, I have some very strong attributes of spouse's father. Last edited by Double D; 08-14-2003 at 11:19 AM.. |

Because 53 - 100 = -47, take away the negative sign cuz we shoulda subtracted 53 from 100 in the first place, and that gives you 47. Take 47 and add pie. That gives you a number above 47 I'm fairly sure. Any number above 47 is in my opinion an ugly number. Women don't like ugly things, therefore there are single guys. - Glad I could help.

On the topic of the thread its a distribution problem. Sort of like with food/starvation. We (the world) produces about 115% of the food necessary to feed all the people alive. Much of it ends up rotting. Why? Because sufficient resources does not imply decent distribution. In particular if there is power to be gained thru messing with the distribution people will block each other. There is a lot of power to be gained thru sex and bonding, Further, Not all matches will work, compatibility issues are rife. Oh and some people like variety/excitement, which totally farks up the people who are looking for dependability. The good news is that computers are *great* at solving distribution problems. I expect that as dating services become more and more acceptable the distribution problem will be handled better. That said I don't think it will ever get better than a 20% failure rate.
