That's awesome man!

I treat people the way I want to be treated. I am guilty of pre-judging at times (like when I get stopped on the street by someone asking for money for "coffee"), but I generally try not to. That is because I was a skinny, 98-lb weakling in high school, and I didn't like the way some people treated me. Lots of education, self-improvement classes later, I'm generally treated with respect, but I still remember those times way back when.
Great, great story, and you deserved every bit of it. Congratulations on being an outstanding member of the human race. |
Rock on. The next question is: whatcha gonna do with the dough?

I once had an amp that had accident (vase of water...) and was looking to get it repaired; went into one of the audio shops. Now, my amp was a little low-end NAD unit, and it turned out these guys only sell Marantz and a few other, similar bits and pieces. They obviously saw themselves as a cut above, because while they were good enough to tell me where the local NAD dealer was, as I walked out of the shop, one of the guys on the counter snidely added, "Come back when you're ready for some real equipment." I've averaged about $2k a year on component audio for the past 6 years since that incident. I've never spent a penny at that store, and I never will. |
woah thats crazy

It's a shame you didn't get to accept the $1000 tip. That woulda made it 13K. Still nice though. Only goes to show that you really can't judge a book by its cover.
