How do you get up in the morning? - Page 2 - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I'm the guy that started the working out thread, and I gotta tell you for DAMN sure, getting up at 6:00 am does NOT come naturally to me.

I have a trick that works, though. When the alarm clock wakes me up, I get out of bed before I have time to think about it. If I lay in bed and <i>consider</i> whether I'm going to get up, I'm sunk. But I've gotten pretty good at getting my gym gear on and getting out the door before my brain starts twirling.

To give you a feel for what I mean, this morning I was on the elliptical trainer at about 6:30, when one of the TVs they have there put today's date on the screen, and I realized it's my birthday (It's my birthday, in case you missed that thread...

). I knew that when I went to bed last night. But I got myself out and moving way ahead of my brain this morning.

by rolling over, putting both feet on the ground, and then standing up. :-)

I am retired---and I can get up when I damn well please, but
when I get a woody that starts throbbing , and pops my eyes
open becase there is not enough skin left to let them close---
I get up and have my coffee which is on a timer and ready for me....

Lately with the wife nagging me about how I'm not going to sleep all day, I should go to bed at a decent hour, blah, blah, blah. Who can pay attention at the ungodly hour of 10 AM?

I get up grumpy if there is no coffee on the night stand - my wife says I'm spoiled - the nerve!

i exist in that wonderous place between sleep and reality, until someone disturbs it...usualy about 15 mins before i have to leave for work/school.

I need to get to bed at at least 11:30PM if I want to hear my alarm clock. Other thing is my alarm is on the other side of the room so after it goes off for a half hour I have to get up because it's just so annoying. What's worse than that is when I get up ahead of time and get to the kitchen. Get coffee, sit down, relax...and then listen to my alarm go off in my room :P Then I have to freekin crawl up there to shut the biatch off.

I have my alarm clock set on the oposite side of the room from my bed so I have to get out of bed to turn it off. Last summer, my roomate would play "Green Hell" by the Misfits at an painfully loud level every day to wake me up.
