So... Canada isn't safe either!!!
Tonight a couple friends from work and i got jumpped on a fairly busy street
It's freaking annoying because 3 years ago things like that didn't really happen. I always felt safe walking around that area, and now i don't. I just don't understand why people feel the need to run up and beat the crap out of people, especially when there are 6 of them and 3 of us (the other two guys with me were two little guys too). Nothing serious happened, but it was just freaking stupid and annoying has anyone had this kind of shit happen to them? From now on i am going to carry something that will give myself a little bit of defence for next time. Not a knife or anything, but maybe some big key chain or something that i can hold or whatever. Does anyone else carry anything to protect themselves from shit like this? |

i only carry the bare essentials in my wallet.
drivers licence, school id, < $10, atm card. rest of the stuff (like ssc and others), i keep in my desk drawer. i'm not very big, so i think i would be a big target for muggers. and i dont think u should fight back when they outnumber you. it's better to lose a couple of dollars than get hurt.

I'm not a small guy by any means... but when it's 6 on 3 where 2 of the guys you are with are small, it's a little different
We ran so nothing much happened, but it's still annoying as hell. I live in London Ontario.. shit like this didn't used to happen here. Honestly though, the thing that gets me is, not to be racist, but these 6 guys were of an african american(canadian) decent, and they always complain and bitch that everyone stereotypes them as guys who think they are hard asses and guys who go around and cause shit and get in fights and shit like that. A few of my friends have been jumped before and guess what, the guys who jumped them were black. Also, this isn't a racist city by any means, and it used to be a very calm, no violence city, but now it's not. But... If you dont' want people thinking that you are like what the media says, don't do shit like this. It really pisses me off because now if i see three black guys walking down the street who are all decked out in hiphop gear, and i am alone, i'm going to be afraid to walk by them, because of these 6 fellows. It's just fucking annoying, and i can see why some people are very racist. If this has happened to people more than once in their lives, they would naturally have more hatred towards the other race. Fuck.. i hate this stupid little world we live in... it's so confusing at times when it should be so simple |

You should try living by Washington DC... the county I live in used to be one of the nicest counties in Maryland and now it is one of the poorest and crime-ridden counties... even my hometown has been ghetto-fied... Its sad when you can't walk around your own town by yourself....

Taog, I'm with ya man. Where I live, there's a black morning show where they seem to passively dog whites all the time. Talking about how blacks get a raw deal etc, etc, etc. But is it just me, or are most famous blacks today rappers who sing about gangbanging, free sex 24/7, killing folk for looking at them the wrong way, and smoking weed everyday???
Sorry, had to vent. It sucks you got jumped, man. I can't blame you a bit for being wary of black guys at night now.

I was beaten to a pulp by a gang of 8th graders when I was in 4th grade. Technically, I didn't lose cuz I was still standing, but at the same time I was the only one bloodied up. Since then, no one has ever touched me, not even complete strangers. Apparently, I have this aura about me and people can sense it.

You're absolutely right, agentsmith. I was about to come over and beat the ever-loving piss out of you, but after your post I changed my mind.

Carrying a weapon might make you feel a bit safer, but if you are still outnumbered, you are running the risk of losing the weapon and getting it used against you.
Maybe carry pepper spray would be better than a large keychain. Things have gotten a bit worse around here, but only because the Americans come over the border here to drink, so it's one big clusterfuck on the weekends. |

I am also running the risk of being searched by some stupid ass cop who has nothing better to do because i am carrying a skateboard. Then after he searched me, he will find the weapon and charge me. or the guys will put out a bigger weapon and use it on me... I think what i am going to do is say fuck it to walking around this neighbourhood at night.. i'll just drive or get a ride |
