not just for yanks, but when in hawaii, i found that the epithet for any non-islander is "haole."
i asked a tshirt printing shop to make me a haole hat & they wouldn't do it - said i might get beat up! |
Lived in New Zealand for a while, where there was an RV rental company that actually put "CAUTION! American Driver" signs in the windows of RV's rented by yanks.
Nothing gives you national pride like watching one of those things try to back up through traffic, beeping like crazy, hitting stuff, and warning the world about Americn drivers. |
