Names and their equals

This was inspired by the "what's your real name" thread.

Could the american/english members help type a list of names with their equals. Just for enlightning us non anglosaxians. I meen, it seems that William and Bill are the same, like Robert and Bob are. This can be confusing some times.

It would be nice to know more just for the sake of knowledge. Please help make it as complete as possible. Thanx!

Robert: Bob, Bobby, ...
William: Bill, ...

Richard => { Rich, Dick }
James => { Jim }
Timothy => { Tim }
David => { Dave }
Daniel => { Dan }

About all I can think of off the top of my head.

Even some of us Americans are baffled about why John and Jack are seemingly used interchangeably (I think this is less common now than in the past, however).

it's not that they are always the same. Some who are named "Ben" doesn't mean their given name is Benjamin.

I know an "Abby" who is not an "Abigail", and I know a "Bob" who is not a "Robert".

This are just nicknames or shorter names for longer given names...

A few more to add to the list:

Elizabeth: Liz, Beth, Lisa, Liza
William: Will, Bill
Harold: Harry
Ronald: Ron, Ronnie
Jonathan: John or Jon
Christopher/Christina: Chris
Anthony: Ant, Tony
Charles: Charlie, Chuck
Donald: Don, Donnie
Stephan: Steve
Daniella/Danielle: Dani
Daniel: Dan
Alexander: Alex

Gee thanks! Yeah some abbreviations are easier than others.
I live for the moment in Poland and here they use ALOT of nicknames for people interchangeably depending on their mood.
Tricky tricky.

Mead, I really appreciated yours on Robert (my own name).
I think I'll start calling myself The Robinator from now on, or... heck they are all good.

Here are some international nicknames on Robert:

Poland: Robik
Sweden: Robban

Emmanuel - Manuel, Manny, Mannie
Daniel - Danny, Dan
Daniella - Dani, Danii (have a Dutch friend named Danii)

-The Steve Person
-Master Jedi (yes, geeky, retarded, ad infinitum-- get over it )

... but never Stevie.

::looks back over post:: I may have posted too much personal information.

Or, if you're in elementary school,
