Ebay question/Problem.

I played a game a while back called Dark Age of Camelot. I quit playing, sold the accounts on Ebay. Sounds normal, right? Well, kinda.

I listed the account for 5 days. I strictly posted it for buyouts only, with no reserve. A guy bought me out for 150 bucks. Sweet! I get an email today, stating that a guy won my auction for 1.25. He sent the money, I sent him an email, telling him I made an honest mistake, selling the account and forgetting to delist it. Immidetly I returned him 1.25 via paypal. WIth a note teling him for for the inconvience.

At the bottom of the auction, I clearly stated that if someone bid on it, that they woulden't win anything. I'm not sure if that matters.

What can he do? I've done all I can do, the product is long gone. I refunded him his money. It actully cost me 1.04 to refund it through paypals fees.

Not really sure what to do or say, I'm not about to get into a fight with him and ebay over a dollar and 25 cents.

Because I didn't delist it. We just settled for the money over a bank wire. Didn't even use ebay's checkout or anything. 3 days later, I got an email telling me a guy actully bid 1.25 and won the auction.

An honest mistake.

He hasen't said anything, yet, I just emailed him telling that. I'm just curious is all.

He may not ever email me again and just be ok, I dunno. I just dont want to get into some big fiasco over 1.25.

Just periodically check your feedback...if the guy is petty enough over it, I'm sure he will let you know with some negative feedback.

he probably wont make that big of a deal, he thought he was getting something worth lots for a little, finding out that it was to good to be true probably won't be that much of a surprize

$1.25? Shoot, that'll buy you a bag of chips! I'd argue over it.

From Ebay.

Quote:
Non-Selling Seller

It is not permitted for a seller on eBay to refuse payment or delivery of an item at the end of a successful sale.

If you have sent payment and have been unable to receive your item or a refund, please refer to the eBay Buyer Protection Program for information on how to proceed. On this page you will also find instructions that will allow you to report the seller.

If a seller has refused to complete a sale and payment has not been sent or payment has been refunded, report the seller . Make sure to include a copy of the email documenting the seller's refusal to complete the sale with the full message text and complete email headers when making your report.

After receiving your report, eBay will consider the circumstances of the alleged offense. Disciplinary action may result in a formal warning, a temporary suspension, or an indefinite suspension. If a complaint cannot be proven with certainty, it is possible that no action will be taken. Due to privacy issues, eBay will be unable to discuss the result of the investigation.
Given what happened I doubt it's going to be an issue. Was a honest mistake and you sent a refund. Don't worry about it, not a whole they can really do.

You don't have credit card details on ebay do you? If so watch they don't try and suck money out of your account for it. Hear about that happening a lot

I wouldn't worry about it. A friend of mine had a nonselling seller a while back and he contacted eBay about it. He had all the emails between them, lots of proof. It was an auction for about ten dollars and eBay told him to contact the attorney general in New Jersey (where the seller was from) or leave negative feedback. What a joke. I bet they still got their auction fees though.
