A Challenge for every TFP'r
 

I want us to try to do something good. I see so much negativity (mostly from my own posts) that I'm thinking I either need to see some good things someone can say or existing is just a waste.

So, everyone who posts.. say one positive thing about your day. everyday you can.

have the best day ever? explain. did your day suck but damn that glass of coffee was good tell us.

So, can you guys do it? Post a single positive note for your day?

I had one of the coolest times in the last few years at a reptile convention today. it was wonderful.

I did nothing today. I didn't have to go anywhere, see anyone. Nothing.

I cleaned a bit, but was mostly just lazy. I could, because Mrs. Tinfoil was a couple towns away with her friends.

Ahh... a day to myself.

I found out yesterday my boss wants to send me to school for a year on the company's (non-profit organization's) dollar, while keeping me on part time and finishing my apprenticeship. He should be able to get me some unemployment insurance too.

I've been on cloud nine since I found this out since I've had problems blanacing a full time job and full time school before, not to mention trying to scrape up money for school, it's the biggest break I've gotten in my life.

This morning I woke up with a lovely dream involving me having jungle fever. I also went outside while it was nice and talked to my mom.

I made some batter coated fries for dinner today, and they were amazingly good, so much so that I ate 3 plates full. Best I've ever had. :)

I exercised quite a bit today... I'm tired now but it's a good tired, and that half-hour shower was incredibly relaxing.

I babysat my nephew.
And life is good

I had dinner with my folks tonight. It was nice. I haven't sat down with them in a really long time.

I tinted my back window in my car today and it turned out pretty good. :)

Today a friend of the family just happened to be a 17 year old british girl who I got to hang out with while she swum around in her little bikini, then we played soccer and talked, and chances are well see eachother again and I might get the balls to ask her for her number/screen name

I had an acceptable day at work and have had a pleasant and relaxing evening at home ever since.

Today I was able to find a book for a woman that she has been trying to find for many years.
It was nice to be able to help someone complete a quest.

Today I spent 3 hours playing NOLF:2.
It was the most relaxing saturday I've had in a long while.

Today, I had a spectacular, juicy, medium-well-done cheeseburger at Fuddruckers in Burbank, CA. I went with my girlfriend, we took a walk and then a nap afterward, and it was great.

My son said "I love you" to me without me asking. It made my day.

Wrote my dad a letter catching him up on the last few months of my life. Felt good after sending it off.

got a tan...beautiful weather, day at the beach...aaaaaaaaaaahh. Who says life is no good?

Today I got to see a movie with my favorite actress(Angelina Jolie) of all time at the famous Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

I also participated in one of the most uplifting posts I've seen. Thanks, Z.

the pleasure is actually mine. i've had a great day but horrid night and this thread gave me a very real smile I direly needed.

I went out to dinner with a few relatives and had a damned good steak and sweet potato. :)

I sure as shit did! I completed the order on my new computer which is about a bajillion times better than the one Im using now, and a lot cheaper than I had been convinced was the cheapest I could go for, early this morning. It arrives August 9th.

...but that's not even the start of it...

The day became the best day EVER when I got a call from my friend Steve. Steve had been my best friend since elementary school, but I hadn't really seen him since high school... he went to college two years early and did really well for himself. He's now a distributor for Carrier air conditioning (a job that he got partially through his uncle but mostly through working his ass off)... he gets stores to outbid other stores in advance sales, that kind of thing. So anyway, word got around to him that my fiancee was pregnant and that I was stuck in a job that I was getting away with murder at, but wouldn't be for long. Turns out, he had an open position beneath him, and he offered it to me. I didn't hesitate in accepting the offer for a second. There are so many plusses to it that it will be hard to name them all. The major ones are REALLY major though. One of them is that I'll be working for a great friend of mine. I have hated every supervisor I've had at my current job, so this is a huge plus. Another is that my pay could potentially be DOUBLED at this job. Another on top of that is that I don't need all that much experience... Steve says that I can pretty much be trained on-the-job, the only reason that people with business majors get this job is that it looks good on the resumee. The undeniable best part of it, however, is this: most of the time this job is run over the phone, so except for the occasional meeting and even less frequent business trip, I can work from home. This is just one of the greatest things that's ever happened to me... instead of working at a lousy job during the day at UPS, I can work at a much less-lousy (apparently) job at home and watch the baby. I'm absolutely ecstatic... after this I swear I'd take a bullet for Steve. He is just a godlike figure to me now.

And to top it all off, I saw Motorhead, Dio, and IRON MAIDEN tonight. In...fucking...credible show... and in-fucking-credible way to end a perfect day.

I got a wonderful card out of the blue from my sister I haven't seen in a year congratulating me on my 'future' wedding. I got my first credit card to build credit (and i know i won't overdue it like 90% of humans because i am anal about money). i got a promotion and am in training and my trainee is awesome. i am having canned spaguetti right now with the jumbo meatballs that i like. :)

I had a short period of mania while at work and my god it was good. I had a smile from ear to ear.

today is Sunday...

I went down to the beach with my boy and my best friends and their kids.
It's the middle of winter but not a cloud in the sky and warm to boot.
My team won the footy and life is fuckin great.
Now I am here and it don't get much better.

I dont' generally go around telling of my good deeds.. as for my life tho? as much as a day might suck, I strive to live a happy life... So I could probably daily post a lot of junk (If I can remember it all).. As for now, I'm about to sleep, that alone is cool.

Whats positive? I got 4th twice in lazer tag, I achieved a 62.5% accuracy, 6th in the solo game.. I had over 5 people out to get me(big bonus in any FPS.. especially the real life games :D)

That was positive :) Showing how good you are points you out... which makes for a conversation starter, which leads to making more friends! :)

Today I went to a pretty cool party for a friend of mine, and my girlfriend was there, which is always good.

It was good.

last nite, a very lovely young lady with with very erect nipples smiled sincerely at me and thanked me for bringing her dinner

It is a beautiful, sunny warm day and I have no obligations. My chores are done, I have no appointments, I can do anything I want. I have a home, there are flowers in a bowl on the table, and I just drank a delicious cup of jasmine tea my in-laws brought back from China. I am blessed in so many ways, to have been born where and when and who I was.

Today, for the first time, my in-laws invited me to come with them to meet their friends. (They've been my in-laws for about 3 weeks now...)

That was cool. It means I'm really part of the family.
And at the end of the dinner, my father-in-laws friend gave me 2 thumbs up. He didn't know I noticed, because he spoke Chinese, but it's a real good feeling when you know you've been accepted 100 percent.

I told my ageing father how proud I am of him. Made my day.

Hmm... Had a jolly good wanking session this morning.. (:p to all you wankfree souls in here.. hehe :D)

Nah but seriously, My mother celebrated her birtday today. It was really nice.

Enjoyed a bottle of wine with sunday dinner :)...love my sundays.

I went to church with my son and fiance. It was a refreshing exprience, since I haven't been there in a while.

had a nice day with my cousins down at the beach, was nice since we only see eachother for about a week each year

I am going to see a movie with a friend that I made during commuting to work.

I got to spend yesterday with my niece and nephew and last night I had a restful night of slumber and a spectacularly dirty dream about a woman I know.

It's the simple things in life, no?

last night i got laid, in the middle of a road, it was raining and it was amazing.

I spent most of the weekend with my 3 grandchildren (and their parents) AND I found out that they will be coming together again next weekend.

It doesn't get much better than that.

I jump-started some guys car for him in a parking lot after work. Made me feel all warm inside.

I went to a computer show today to help my buddy find parts for a computer he's building. While I was there, I picked up a cheap 2.1 set of speakers with the thought that I could buy a better set later when I have enough cash for it. I don't think I'm going to have to with the sound that I'm getting out of these. :)

Made my cousin happy by helping him successfully rebuild his system with XP,
and gave him lots of SW goodies too.:)

Went to the beach today for a little bit. There's nothing like tthe sounds and sights of the Pacific to calm my soul.

My father spent the day with me, helping with some odds and ends type jobs. It's been a real long time since I've spent long periods of time with him, and I did'nt realize that I missed him.
Getting in touch with your family is a beautiful thing.

today (well, yesterday) i got a game wrote up some and did all kinds of things. i enjoyed my day.

The best thing that happened to me today is that I woke up as me! In my bed, next to my lovely wife, my dog at my feet, my two beautiful children sleeping in their rooms, one to the left, one to the right. I know right away that it was going to be a good day, regardless of what happened at silly ol' work! I just hope that tomorrow and the day after can start off like that.

Other than that, I caught that damn light at the end of my street this morning for the first time in five years!! What a personal victory!

The best thing that happened to me today:

One of my friends needed advice, and I gave it to her (I mean I gave her good advice, you perv).

dreamed of my girl last night, and woke up smiling.

um... finally got around to finishing Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal. Got paying the rent out of the way for another 2 weeks. Had a good (albeit overpriced) roll from a local bakery. Didn't have to work.

I got to work this morning not really having a good day. Progressively, it got a little better, but then I read some of the posts in the Tilted News section. After thinking about it for awhile, I was happy to say I am proud of every mod, admin, regular poster or anyone who contributes to this board. After I thought about it some more, I decided it was about damn time I get my ass in gear and donate, so I did, hopefully it helps some.

And to all of the mods and admins and whatever other names you guys wanna go by, you all rock.
And for some reason, that statement, to me, doesn't get accross how much I truly mean it.

I helped a British citizen get his green card.

A while ago I asked my wife to fulfill a fantasy of mine. Last night she did.

Today she said she enjoyed it, and wants to do it some more.

My wife and kids are at the cottage for the week, and while I miss them... I have a week to myself with little or no responsibilities...

Just like a vacation.

today I had a conversation with another human being for the first time in 3 days. It was such a relief from the lonliness.

Today I, despite working 11 hours, managed to help several people get their PCs functional again after various issues broke them. They were very greatful and it felt good to help someone.

today i watched dragon ball z and worked out.

I saved the world, one computer at a time. :-) Okay, so it was just the place I work at, but they were all thankful for it.

My best day was with my fiancee in Neijmegen, NL. We went on a walk through the park there, picked up some great groceries at the albert hijen and then made ourselves lunch, walked to another park and made out under these fantastic bushes after a great dinner. then we went home to her loft, made the sweetest love i have ever felt then went swiftly to sleep.
and then we woke up early, went on the roof to see the stars disappear and then made love on the roof in the most stunning dawn. THAT was a great day.

I got a LOT of crappy stuff going on in my life right now, but today...I played golf with my dad.

Never turn down a chance to golf with dad. I even let him win. (Yeah right, he waxed my ass):lol:

spent today getting drunk with my friends. Not bad, as days go.

I found out that the chili I made at work for a church function went over extrordinarily well. The pastor asked me if I would be able to cook for more functions.

I figure making Church Chili will also get me off the hook for at least a few sins.

Had a nice home cooked meal . . . talked with my boy . . . . does life get any better

Fixed part of my car that has been broken for awhile and saved myself 200 bucks of labor that I would've paid if I went to a mechanic. Also painted the dashboard while it was out. Tomorrow: put freshly painted dashboard back together, maybe hook up new stereo and put blue lights in the A/C vents so it glows blue when I ahve the A/C on.

i swallowed some of my pride, thus humbling me a bit which in turned proved that I am a human and not just another grudge holding jerk.

i have a huge ego in w some things, but keeping people and myself happy and humble is something i work hard on.

Today, I tried something new. I attempted to carve a bull onto a staff I am making for my wife. And if I may say so myself, it didn't look half bad.

A friends birthday celebration last night, life is all about the people.

I hit the gym yesterday for the first time with a couple weeks off. It's so hard for me to get back into the cycle when I miss a day (which turns into two, which turns into a week, etc); but boy did it feel great.

My fiancee's boss decided to loan us $1000 to pay for our apartment during school. So now we get to have an apartment for the school year and live together.

Well, this week is going pretty good =) Watched Pirates of the Carribean with my family, and actually took them out to dinner (it feels so good when you can do stuff like that :) Got drunk at my best friends birthday party, very fun. Got a few phone calls from some friends I hadn't seen in a while...all in all, a good week.

For the first time in half a month my day at work wasn't half bad. Also I managed to purge the need to kill again.

went with a friend on a walk. A perfect day, and we cheered each other up.

Today was a rough day, but even so, I'm done with Differential Equations. WOOHOO! :)

I didn't have to work today it doesn't get much better than that.

Bones, after the day I just had, you definitely put a smile on my face with that one. Bones was the best thing that happened to my day.

I hung out with my friends today and it was truly badass. I rarely hang out with my friends, so I always ::looks around:: I always treasure the time I spend with my friends :)

i got laid today!

I've worked 12 hour shifts all week, but today was only 8 hours, so it seemed really short! Can't wait to get the paycheck...

as promised, I am writing a better one this morning. I woke up with wood, then had a fantastic workout, then had a great conversation with my boss about upcoming opportunities. Today is a good day.

Today, I went on a drive with my dad in his old Beat-up pickup. I rolled down the window and layed by head down on it, the wind rushed past my hair and face. It was a serene and calming moment.

I just saw it today. It was fantastic. Have been waiting weeks for it to come out. Wish I could meet a girl like that. Well I have, but I want to meet one that still lives in this country...

I made it to work in record time today. Then I got to go home early. Nothing is better than getting off work early on a Friday!

I had a very nice, easy day with my girlfriend. I don't think I'll ever tire of kissing her. In 4 and a half hours I leave for Lake Superior to camp for a week.

I'm working overtime, and the work is easy!

Have you ever been to Seattle? This city has some of the most beautiful views on Earth... from my apartment. Today my GF and I watched the sun set over the Puget sound and Olympic mountains from our deck while eating fresh Washington cherries from the Pike Market. People work their whole lives to be able to retire and do this, and we get to have it now!

Ahhh what a lovely day it is! Not doing much yet. But will soon start to wash up some shirts for the 2 week trip to Italy that starts on Monday. Such a nice feeling.
I am taking my three dear friends on my expence on this hollliday. The airline tickets paid by using my collected miles. 5 days in Rome and then I have rented a pink (!) house for a week on the San Remo riviera with a pool. Geeeee I can't wait!! I just hope the draught in Italy allows us to have water in the pool.

This is one of the best Saturdays in a long time!

P.S. And I have a little crush on one of my friends, and she comes over tonight for a DVD movie night. I wish I had the guts... D.S.

I found an excelent new italian restraunt today.... rare to find good service and food at a low price

WhoaitsZ....what an excellent idea! We all too often need the reminder of the good instead of the bad...thank you for that!
For me...it was sunny and warm instead of the rain they were predicting which was great but my absolute top moment of the day came when my two year old came and sat beside me outside on the steps, wrapped his little arm around me and asked for a kiss. Nothing like a sloppy kiss from your darling two year old to make your heart melt!

It's a damn good thing I don't mind the site of blood.


I cut off the tip of my pinkie with a can of cat food. I'm so okay with that though.

I did a lot of running yesterday, the first time in quite awhile.

I've been stiff and sore all day today, so I just sat around. Time flies when you don't really want to move. :)
