Uh, they sure were FUGLY!!

blah-uh 07-24-2003 07:35 AM

I find it hard to believe ethat these pictures are all of a sudden going to convince americans and the Iraqi people that they are really dead. These pictures could be anyone... The only thing that looks remotely convincing is that the one dude has a shaved head.

Cynthetiq 07-24-2003 07:50 AM

jeezus... seems to me like they are trying to demoralize Saddam into coming out of hiding....

Latch 07-24-2003 08:06 AM

It does have to be a pretty crushing blow to see such bad photos of your leaders (well, a couple fo them). I guess it'd be kinda like seeing bad photos of a murdered Bush (as in GW, no sick jokes!) in America.

Apparently you don't listen to the news or watch TV - These photos were accompanied by x-rays, dental records, detatils of Uday's surgery and exrays of the metal implants. Some people simply refuse to believe what ourt government says until it slaps them in the face - Ask the ugly ( and dead) brothers.

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon released pictures Thursday of the bodies of Saddam Hussein's much-feared sons, Uday and Qusay Hussein

The extremely graphic photographs of the dead brothers were distributed on CD-ROM in Baghdad, where many news wire services have reporters stationed. The pictures later were distributed to other news outlets.

The U.S. military hopes the photographs will convince fearful Iraqis that Uday and Qusay died in Tuesday's raid on a house in the northern city of Mosul.

Two of the photos show Uday, the older brother, with a thick beard and a severely bruised and bloodied face. He has a gash running from his left eye to the right corner of his mouth, and bruises over his forehead.

Qusay, depicted in two other photos, has bruises and blood marks on his eyes, and a beard. His mouth is open, his teeth are showing, and his face is far more intact than Uday's.

The pictures show the men from the chest up -- one on bloody white sheets and the other in what appears to be a body bag. The faces are caked with blood, the eyes are closed and the lids are darkly bruised. The brothers had never worn such thick beards, and may have been trying to disguise their identities as they spent three months in hiding from coalition forces.

U.S. officials also released photos of the brothers when they were alive for comparison, as well as X-rays of Uday -- who was hurt in the leg in an assassination attempt in the 1990s.

Senior defense officials told Fox News that the bodies were not repositioned in any way and that the pictures were not altered. U.S. officials are still awaiting official autopsy results.

Preach on! You hit the nail on the head.

H12 07-24-2003 12:44 PM

They get their looks from their father, so they don't shock me.

Heh, but man...Uday felt the pain, if his face is any indication. I'm glad they're out of power, I just don't like the idea of 'em being murdered when it'd been better to capture them. Oh well, they fought, and we fought back.

Ropespierre 07-24-2003 02:30 PM

Now if they could just find dad, Osama and the other Afghani dude whose name escapes me.

bermuDa 07-24-2003 02:54 PM

Are you sure those pictures are of the right brothers? I saw "Sons of Saddam" on the history channel the other day and the top picture looks more like Odai than Qosai, and vice versa...

Exsai 07-24-2003 02:58 PM

Either way its awesome

wally 07-24-2003 03:02 PM

Personally, I've hard a hard time looking at the photos. Something about looking at photos of dead people just isn't something I care to look at.

pezking4 07-24-2003 03:14 PM

Saw these on the news today. Kinda caught me off-guard as I was walking by the tv at work. Usually don't get to see pictures of that type content on the news

90degree 07-24-2003 05:39 PM

God... everything is a conspiracy with some people.. lmao

those headz need a baseball bat taken to them now that they have been identified.. imo.

FastShark85 07-24-2003 06:28 PM

Now the Iraqis are complaining about the pictures since we complained about having pictures of dead US military personnel aired on Al Jazeera.

NeverBorn 07-24-2003 06:31 PM

Good..the bastards are dead.

Destrox 07-24-2003 06:37 PM

well we did break the laws of the geneva convention to a extent.

but this was the only way to get the ignorant basterds to realize we did what we said.

FastShark85 07-24-2003 06:46 PM

Lots of the Iraqis still don't believe they're dead, and are also complaining that they should have been taken alive so that they could be MORE certain that the brothers' careers were over.

Some people are never satisfied.

Well, it would have been better to capture them for intelligence purposes, but as far as them being "murdered", a relatively quick death is far better than these two deserved.

Boy...they really messed em up.

hobo 07-24-2003 07:19 PM

I wonder how Saddam feels about this. Sure they were all bad, but even bad guys have feelings. If there is ever a time to catch Saddam, it is now, when he is likely emotionally distressed over the loss of his heir and eldest son.

On another note, the 15 year old grandson of Saddam was killed too. I wonder if he was guilty of anything more than being his father's son. I kinda feel bad for that kid, he probably wasn't too bad but was just unlucky.

dogma13554u 07-24-2003 07:37 PM

I don't want to sound unpatriotic, I love this country more than most, and have given time to it, but it mever fails to astonish me how petty we get sometimes. Just months ago we were bitching and moaning when iraqi tv showed images of American soldiers captured and/or killed. We said how horrible the broadcast of these images was, and yet here we are, doing the exact same thing. I understand the point of the war, and I would agree with a lot of what we're doing, but this crossed the line. We've stuped to their level, and that's a level i never wanted to se my country hit.

tenchi069 07-24-2003 07:44 PM

We had to go to what I feel are extreme lengths to attempt to prove to the people in Iraq that the brothers are indeed dead. There is so much propoganda to try to rally support over there in an attempt to stop what is being termed a U.S. occupation of the country that the propoganda must be fought with hard and real evidence.

FastShark85 07-24-2003 07:49 PM

I'd like to see photos of Saddam in the same condition as his sons.

I doubt that a man who ordered the shooting of his third son would be emotionally harmed by the death of his other two. I hope that he gets reckless and we catch him, but at least he's not in charge anymore. I wish we could convince more people of that.

I find it disgusting. Bush protested as images of killed soldeirs were broadcasted on Iraqi TV, preaching them to follow the un's decree. Now that Bush sees it fit to prove they are dead they release photos of their deaths.

thedrake 07-24-2003 09:44 PM

I feel though Bush is an idiot and a liar, these are the guys who say they are. I don't know why, but they have gone lengths in trying to make sure the pictures are the truth. Too bad so many of our soldiers had to die for our President's stupidity ( FYI- I did support the troops, just not the President).

Spartak 07-24-2003 11:03 PM

Is he is he is he dead ?

/wutang

Looks like they got the job done.

KillerYoda 07-25-2003 01:42 AM

Faces only a mother could love...very, very drunken mother.

Perhaps I am jaded after looking at rotten.com for some time now, but these do not strike me as "graphic".

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The U.S. military displayed the bodies of Saddam's sons Odai and Qusai to journalists Friday, and pathologists said each body contained more than 20 bullet wounds.

The bodies were prepared for funeral viewing by the U.S. military morticians, with their faces partially restored.

The U.S. authorities said they sent tissue samples from both bodies to a military lab in Washington for DNA testing.

Both brothers had multiple scrapes, abrasions and burns. Odai was believed to have died from a blow to the head. Qusai had two bullet wounds in his head, in and just behind his right ear, doctors and medical officials said, adding the wounds did not appear to be self-inflicted.

...

Surgeons showed reporters a metal rod they removed from one of Odai's legs, inserted during reconstructive surgery after a 1996 assassination attempt. They said the serial and model number on the eight-inch rod matched data they had about it.

Good enough for me.

Can't say that i feel too sorry for Sadam's loss. :P Hopefully he is still alive somewhere and we are able to capture him alive (which i doubt). Most likely he died and was cremated so that he legend will live on and keep the resistance alive. He's got so many body doubles they can keep up the appearance of his existance for a long time.

MikeyChalupa 07-25-2003 08:13 AM

They've got more up now, full body facially reconstructed, shaved and cleaned-up shots, showing autopsy scars, and the metal rod from Uday's leg.

No loss to civilisation.

Gorgo 07-25-2003 05:37 PM

I believe the US troops killed the rights guys, take two Aces out of the Most Wanted deck.

As for what the hell is the USA doing in Iraq, that's a whole other thread . . .
