It's a good school.

Fair warning: don't go, unless you're willing to risk going insane from the pressure. (if you're studying a science).

Man, all the people on semesters are graduating! Since I'm on quarters, I don't graduate until June--commencement is the 15th, but I probably won't get my actual diploma until July, because I am NOT sitting in the hot sun for three hours to get a piece of paper and watch 3000 other people get theirs. Oregon State University has commencement in the football stadium, and the graduates don't get any cover.

I did a year at the University of Detroit, but health issues caused me to drop enough credits to lose my scholarship. I studied economics and accounting, carried a 3.75 (of 4) GPA, and HATED it!
Transferred to Macomb County Community College. Studied music theory, creative writing, acting... loved it, but couldn't pursue those seriously at the time.

Still plenty of time. I didn't go back till I was 30.

I went to a local community college for my Associates in Nursing. It met my criteria...fast, local and cheap.
I've been on the fence lately about getting a BA or masters. Not sure if I want to get into management.

A word to the wise about distance learning... I'm an ex-pat teaching English in Asia. I started the Applied Linguistics Masters at University of Birmingham (UK) last year. It is fully accredited and accepted as a legitimate degree by many Ministries of Education throughout the world, even though it is by distance.

Lately, there have been many postings to the ex-pat community websites about pushback from all Uni's, especially private ones, that they aren't hiring anyone with a distance degree. With this in mind I am switching to Temple University Japan for a M.S. Ed.. It is a brick and mortar campus, and is accepted without question everywhere.

If you're thinking about a distance degree, find out how much of an asset it will be before you put your hard-earned money on the line!
