Ok girls I have a question for you....

If you got to pick a car for your boyfriend/husband/significant other, which of these two would you pick?

Great looking, but fairly slow

OR

Normal looking, but fast?

Me and a few of my friends are kind of in an argument about this. I think most girls would rather have a guy that drives a great looking car rather than a fast one, but my friend says girls are all about speed. I have a datsun 280ZX, faster than the average bear, and my friend has a 92 Celica GT, slow, but has a beautiful clean paintjob and body kit.

So please dont flame me, it is a legitimate question.

girls aren't all about the car, at all. :P Fer that matter, out of all the cars i've ever driven regularly ('85 mustang v8, '94 Pontiac GrandAm, '94 Toyota Corrolla, unknown year Chevy Blazer), i have to say I love my no-features slow-ass Corolla best. 'cuz i only have to fill the tank once a month. :D

now, about this car thing. personally, the kind of guy who puts that much time and money into a car, i'm not interested in, and hell, he's more interested in the car than me in the first place. and who CARES how fast it goes, i don't need a guy w/ so many speeding tickets insurance is immpossible to find, ya know? Dunno... maybe it's just me, but I'd chose neither.

Here's what they really want. A good looking fast car. If a chic would be talking to a couple of dudes who each had good looking fast cars then the guy who's car was the most expensive would win out. In general girls don't give a fuck about your personality. It's all about what you can give them and a guy who has an expensive car can give them more shit to keep them happy and you miserable. Girls are just as bad as guys and I actually think they're worse. I only speak from my experiences with women.

the car does not need to go fast, going too fast makes me nervous to be honest...

but it's good for a car to have some good accelleration imo.

Who cares what kind of car he drives? I'm with Cheerios - I choose "neither." It's completely irrelevant, and I'm not likely to be with a man who cares that much about a car, or who is after the kind of woman who does.

Where is the great looking fast option? ;) I've been with both kinds of guys. Most of the time, the guys with the fast cars are conceited and act like hard asses so the personality gets flung out the window..

If those are the only 2 options. They would take the good looking slow car. Most guys who drive fast freak out most girls, and the girls would prefer to be in a hot looking car that everyone could see them in as it slowly drives by.

i don't really give a shit, but for purposes of your argument i chose "great looking and slow" because fast cars aren't really a turn-on at all, and i personally love great-looking cars. haha.

Fast. In every aspect.

Put yourself in the situation that you are actually at the red light and the cars are side by side...

I mean the guy with the fast car is looking over at your guy ready to run as soon as the lights green and your sitting there in the nice clean stock car knowing its slow as hell compared to this guy

Does that change anything?

i dont think they would want you anyway.... the cars steering wheel is on the wrong side.... :P :D

A fast car to me speaks of a youth. A slower but well kept car to me speaks of a more mature male. Also I'd choose the slower car for my hubby because I'm sick of speeding tickets (though he'd still be able to speed - just maybe not Quite so much). When I was a teen I would probably say the fast car but now that I've had my fun a well kept car is much more what I'd say.

I'd rather it look good, not be able to go that fast and have my husband ALIVE.....

I think cars that have the capability to go really really fast are utterly pointless.....I mean, honestly, how many times in your life are you going to have to outrun terrorists in your Ferrari F355?

Hmm - kinda speaks to the "women are shallow" thread.

BTW in case my wife reads this and is thinking of giving me a car for my B-day, I prefere a new motorcycle.

I would really prefer a fast good looking car :)

I imagine it would depend on the type of woman your trying to attract.

The kind of woman I always wanted would never be impressed enough by a guys car to consider dating him just because of it. But thats just me.
