I wish it was a real date...because I have no fear about dying and meanwhile I'm just gonna have as much fun as possible and enjoy everyday!

for the love of god, when are we going to stop listening to these idiots? How many times can people be wrong about the world ending because of some religion-gone-wrong-soothsayer-bullshit? Why do people constantly cling to the idea that the world is going to go down in flames and some god being is going to finger us with flaming fists? when is the next one? next year, right? 2012? errr... daka, the earth doesnt float. its spins. there would be little effect caused by the displacement of 200Million humans. Although, i can see your point. If matter can not be created or destroyed, that what is taking the place of the matter that was beamed up.

im assuming it a figurative beaming up, where the souls ascend the bodies stay on earth.

I spent the weekend and the Rapture getting, and staying, very drunk on a tropical beach. All I got was a little bit of a sunburn and no appreciable hangover.

i was doing a swimming coaching course at the time. i was kind of hoping rapture would come so that i didnt have to do the poolside assessment.

You would have had the job of cleaning empty suits out of the pool's filter. I'd say it was a toss-up.

I dont know if I'm alone in this, but I really hate this sort of thing (same with the Large Collider thing, the Mayan prophecies, etc)

I dont BELIEVE in it, and I dont think there is any rational argument to believe in it, I dont change my life or anything like that... but I cant help but feel a tickle of fear whenever I read or hear stuff like this.

so, we survived?

I had a change of heart. As the wedding was at 4:00 and outdoors, it hardly seemed appropriate to wear formalwear. I wore my grey suit (the theme was grey and gold,) a good shirt, freshly shined shoes, and a classy tie that was my father's. The reception began at 6 and at each table and the bar, a beer was served that I, my brother, and the bride's brother had brewed. By 6:15, the bartenders were sending busboys to scavenge unopened bottles from the tables. I went above and beyond the call of duty and danced with bridesmaids, bride's friends, friends, and various individuals' mothers.

I was bought shots and beers, and given congratulations for my karaoke performance (this struck me as odd but I shrugged it off as either the Pennsylvanian adaptation of what we would typically southern hospitality) and did several shots with another wedding's bridesmaid and a pleasant, quick-witted fellow named ... well, I don't remember his name, but it's entirely his fault for buying me that many shots when I was already three sheets to the wind.
I am having a party for that and at midnight I will be opening a 3L bomber of Stone Double Bastard that has been aging since early this January. Bobby, if you and your wife are in the area and feel like putting up with us young whippersnappers (as I'm led to believe those of your generation refer to us,) you are invited as honored guests.
