Where I work, hell no. Not only do they block most sites like this, and where the titty board would link from, but they killed off the webproxies so I can't even go around the firewall. On top of they they monitor my web activity, so they know everything I try. Very annoying.

Not at work, never. Have access, it would be stupid to come here using it. I check Yahoo! e-mail and CNN and the like though, but for maybe 15 min. a day.
More people have access and use it to come here than I would have thought, this is interesting. |

Rarely I will check E-mail and occaisionally I will search other sites. When I do it is usually work related. The most common is the CDC travel health site. I would never come to the TFP at work.

Nope. I don't have a computer near me. Even if I did I doubt that I would. I never have understood how so many people had the time to surf at work unless it had something to do with their job. If I was a boss and my employees were surfing the net all day at work I'd fire them in a minute.

If I'm at home working, I'll check a few things but when I'm out in the field i'm lucky enough to get cell service let alone an internet connection. I'm glad my job has nothing to do with the web, surfing would seem like work while I'm supposed to be having fun.

Doing so right now.
I'm kinda torn actually, I can't really use the Titty board at home cause my damn dialup connection is way to slow, but then I don't want a huge ton of porn flowing through the high speed connection at work either. It's all about moderation.

Can't where I work. Only the bosses have computers. Besides even if I did have access it wouldn't matter. I'd never have the time to use it.

No computer where I work. Although if I had a laptop, that would be perfectly accpetable. Maybe I should invest in one

I really depends how you look at it. When I'm working (mostly only in the summer) I have complete control over my schedule. This will change a bit this summer as I'm being promoted to an assistant manager in which case I'll have a bit more of a set schedule. That said, when not doing assistant manager type activities, I can take time off whenever I feel like it, so, in that case, yes, I can surf while at work. All I'd have to do is stop off at home and start surfing. BUT, if you consider it based only on whether or not I can surf while ON THE JOB, then no. When I'm actually working and doing things I get paid for, I'm either at someone's home whom I don't know very well or in a small office where there is only one computer and one e-mail station.

i'm a little frustrated with this question. i have a computer with internet access at my desk and i do use that access on a very regular basis (finding shipping rates to charge customers, arranging freight pickups, so on and so forth...), but when my "supervisor" (not really a sup, but the guy who hired me and therefore is responsible for me) found me checking out a couple of things linked off of mefi, he suggested i make better use of my time. this aggrivates me. when i go into his office during his downtime he's surfing rush limbaugh's site. the service manager spends a great deal of time searching ebay for classic cars, and the shop foreman is constantly checking the airline sites for rates to his next dream destination. is this fair? i don't know. is this frustrating? incredibly. can i do any damn thing about it? nope. one of the many "perks" of being the new guy.

I can now - pretty soon I'll probably have to turn off avatars, though. I had to quit surfing at work right before TFP3.0 crashed - because of the "Anna / Britney Sex video" and Matt's Models ads that kept showing up. I understood, though. Business is business - it takes money to run this site. I certainly don't surf the Titty Board at work, though.

I work for an Internet Company so yeah.
I can do pretty much what ever when not on the phone. They've got a firewall setup to stop p2p programs and ICQ for some reason also. Doesnt really acoomplish much though. Plenty of alternate IM clients and we are able to get Kazaa Lite around the firewall. If thats not enough we just fire up the FTP client. I usually surf an average of about 3-4 hours a night at work. About 1 hour on the phones and the rest of the time doing homework, watching a movie, playing some annoyingly addictive flash game or listening to music.

I own the company so I do what I want. It mainly depends on how busy I am. Lately not too busy so I get a fair amount of time to surf and I usually stay here. My post count should actually be much higher with as much time as I spend here.
I have two employees. One sits at the front desk in a very visible position. That and the fact that her pc is an antique and crasehes all the time keeps her off line. My other person has a semi-private office and gets to surf quite a bit. Sometimes it pisses me off but the nature of her job is that sometimes she just isn't very busy. She can surf wherever she wants just as long as she doesn't get busted for inappropriate material by one of my clients. Kind of a perk for her. Hey, If you get the job done like your'e supposed to, then WTF?

Yep, I surf at work. Basically my job requires a lot of research, so there is no problem if I surf to TFP. I do have be careful when the threads include posts from *Nikki* or Jadzia and I avoid the Titty Board when I'm at work.
I can't use mIRC at work, but they have no problem with me listening to radio on the internet. Go figure.
