Arrr mateys(!), I don't think either USA or Canada are really dumping their hazardous stuff in North America. I read a Google news headline sometime ago about how most of the hazardous stuff was being "exported" to China, India, and some other country/countries in Africa.

I think it may be the other way around. I remember an incident a few years back where an American company sent a few truckloads of bio-med waste up to Canada (illegally).
Also, they're thinking of storing nuclear waste in the Canadian Shield (think rock). Just wait until that gets into the water table.

I dobut that Canada as country or the US as a country are trading garage. Towns and cities all over the place send garbage to other towns. Towns all over the us do it. They don't have suffiecnt land fills and what not and a local town does. It would not suprise me to know that towns along the border send it to others across the border.
