A bad experience
What would you do in the following situation?
To give a quick background my wife and I have been going to a certain dentist office for 4 years now. We loved our hygienist Marina she was amazing, gentle, professional courteous, and personable at the same time (and actually very hot as well). She finally had children this past July and has not been back since. As far as the dentists goes, I have seen 4 different ones there in this time maybe 4 minutes each visit, and they say hi, everything looks good, let me upsell you on teeth whitening, no ok bye. I went on October 19 since I was having a bit of pain, needed root canal, they recommended an endodontic, I went got the root canal, scheduled for the crown at my dentist office for yesterday. One quick note Marina the hygienist been gone I will be honest I do not feel as comfortable at the dentist office, it has felt very un-personable now, and purely business like. When I got there she said they would see me, broke out what my co-pay was, all quick numbers. They put me in the dental chair, I had to wait on the dentist. I realized the numbers she said did not sound correct, nad I had on my phone an email with all the fees, I looked it up and sure enough she was wrong, she said about 800, the schedule listed it at 370. The dentist came in I showed him, he called back the manager she said I should call them, I did, within 5 minutes I was told that I was correct, she then told me since I made the call I lost my time slot and they can see me 3 hours later if I want (I do not live, work near the office, and I had something to do when she did offer). I was shocked I did not have to call then I only did since she said, my call was 5 minutes long, and on top of that even the dentist was surprised (he is an employee she is the office manager). I said I had scheduled my work week, she did not seem to care she said either on the 19th or if I want in 3 hours. I informed her neither was a viable solution. I also heard her talking to her colleague in Russian, which I understand very little but I knew it was about me. I did answer one question she said in Russian that did shut them up speaking Russian, which also disgusted me. I almost think she was upset I questioned her numbers, and found her to be incorrect and since it was much less she bumped me. I did write a letter and emailed and mailed it to the head dentist, of course she replied since I have only once even seen the head dentist I do not think he works much there. She just apologized again. I have since made an appointment to another dentist, in a different practice two weeks from now, but it just really pissed me off and messed up my schedule.

And I would have done the same thing, Xazy--found a new dentist. I think that's probably the only real choice in this situation.

The bitch is the office manager, who sits at the front of the office. We had referred a few people, and I do plan on telling them about this.

I fired my dentist a couple years back. He stopped being a "preferred provider" on my insurance and tried to retroactively bill me for work that was started on one plan and carried over to another.
I probably could have worked things out if I liked him. It always seemed that I was just a commodity to him ... I treated him the same and found another dentist. |
