a hoax? real? what do you think?

im just interested to see why UFO's or aliens only seem to be interested in NYC, Washington DC and other places of interest in the USA. I never hear of UFO's in Angola or Botswana, or Ulaan Bator.

Although officials could not confirm what the celestial objects were, sceptics believed the objects were balloons used in a promotion event on Broadway in Times Square despite the Federal Aviation Administration reporting that nothing was in that area around that time of day.

But believers cite a September 13 press release for the book Challenges of Change by retired Air Force officer Stanley A. Fulham, which predicted a fleet of UFOs would descend upon Earth's major cities on Wednesday, October 13.

Mr Fulham stated the extraterrestrials would neither land nor make any communication with Earth on Wednesday.

But their presence would be "the first in a series intended to avert a planetary catastrophe resulting from increasing levels of carbon-dioxide in the earth's atmosphere dangerously approaching a 'critical mass'. (...) They are aware from eons of experience with other planets in similar conditions their sudden intervention would cause fear and panic."

He says their contact with Earth is part of their process of leading mankind into accepting the "alien reality and technologies for the removal of poisonous gases from the earth's atmosphere in 2015, if not sooner".

The Federal Aviation Administration said that after reviewing radar information, they only found typical helicopter traffic above the West Side but could not detect anything unusual that would prompt the avalanche of reports they received.

"We re-ran radar to see if there was anything there that we can't account for but there is nothing in the area," spokesman Jim Peters said.

"There was some helicopter traffic over the river at that time and we checked with LaGuardia Tower. And they said they had nothing going low at that time."

It would be nice if someone brought a super powerful telescope with a camera attached to it so they can get a better view of the three lights. I mean seriously, how difficult is it for someone to do this??

from what ive read ive heard its balloons, but i cant see how baloons can do that.

I haven't seen the video on that particular one. But I saw video from the last one in China. It was really cool but was probably some weird missile/rocket/drone test.

I don't think balloons can manoeuver that quickly. Looks like jets in the distance.

Lacking the necessary perspective, they sure look like balloons to me...

Personally, I look forward to aliens coming.

At least is clearer then most videos/photos you come across.

Pretty cool footage though but as usually there is probably a perfectly rational (ie boring) explanation for it.

They did all seem to be straining their necks while watching.

Well thats true, BG. Still it is kind of cool how a bunch of balloons got so many imaginations fired up and thinking about aliens and what not.

I'm with the crowd that thinks the balloons are just a cover story.

More importantly, the UFOs may have interfered in some way with the radar equipment. If so, then it appears that the FAA is covering up the true significance of UFOs witnessed over New York City.
