Do you make movies? I've got a film festival
Hey, TFP, I'm going to launch a film festival in Seattle for Horror, Comedy and... Horror/Comedy.
Like everything else I've ever done (parenting, starting a business, group sex, etc.) I'm jumping in without a clue how it all works. But I've got a venue, I've got a band, and I've got some films. But I could use some more shorts. So if you make movies of the comedy or horror variety, or if you want to suggest some, please let me know. BoneBat Film Fest!

How very cool.
I wish I could attend this. I don't have any films to suggest but can suggest that you check out the website Twitch.com. It has a lot of information and scoops on new films in this genre. You might also consider following Colin Geddes on Twitter. Colin is the lead programmer for Midnight Madness at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is very well informed.

I love film festivals!!
I usually offer my opinion about things I know very little about and try to make it seem like I'm an expert and make fun of anyone who questions me. It's a lonely job, but with the decline of WillRavel, someone has to do it. That being said, I must admit that I know nothing about making films. But I think the whole thing is a massively cool idea. You go, Clavus!

Crap, both my memory and my search skillz are failing me today. A member posted a preview to a horror movie that he just finished writing and directing. It was about 2 months ago. I don't remember if he had scheduled any showings yet.
Anyone? EDIT: Got it. It was Retrogunslinger. Check out http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...fp-member.html

My brain is kicking over... You might want to read this gem - Horality. I looks at the convergence of comedy and horror. I remember reading it or a book by the same author when I was in film school.
The master template for this genre is Raimi's The Evil Dead, but time has not been kind to some of the first horror films. They are quite comical now. Have a look at Herchell Gordon Lewis's Blood Feast (what many say is the first slasher film). There is a lot of history in it but also comedy (of the unintentional kind). I am also remembering a film called Dellamorte Dellamore, starring Rupert Everett as a guy who works in a cemetary. It was pretty decent. And don't forget Peter Jackson's Meet the Feebles (the Muppets meet Horror) or Braindead, the scene where the hero straps a lawn mower to his chest, blades out, to mow down some pesky zombies is priceless.
