What are your pets' names?
I've always loved people names for animals. In high school, I had a parakeet named Bill and a rat named Emma. I just prefer people names over Fluffy or Muffin or whatever. What are your pets' names? |

My cat's name is Anakin. and I am pretty sure he is ready to turn to the dark side.
![]() My last cat was named Simba, but he was not a lion at all. He was a softee, no roaring.

I've also owned a Spike, who was the best cat in the world. Ttly an old Jewish man in a cat's body. And also Gonzo - a Shepherd mix. He was the only vicious dog I've owned. When we had company, we had to put him outside and lower the blinds so he didn't see any strangers. Otherwise he'd try his damnedest to come through the windows.

Our cockatiels are Rufus and Apollo. Rufus is a girl. We adopted Apollo - that was his name before we adopted him and we liked it. Our goldfish's name is Oscar.
My favorite pet ever was my first parakeet, Popis.

The only pet I have currently is my cat DJ. That was his name when I got him about six years ago from the cat shelter I used to volunteer at; he was five at the time, so I thought it would be pretty pointless to change his name. He does, of course, have plenty of stupid nicknames like dopey, uddercow (he's black and white and has multiple udders), etc, etc.

We have a little dog: she's a mutty mix of Shih Tzu, Maltese, maybe poodle or Bijon, and some things we can't identify. She's an awesome dog.
Her official name is Pumpernickel, although nobody ever calls her that. Her official nickname is Nicky, which we only sometimes use. She answers to Little Dog, Little Hairy Sausage Dog, Nick, Knickknack, Fuzzbomb, Fluffy Dog, Little Fuzzy, Furry Girl, Puppy, variations on Nick (Nicodemus, Nickelodeon, Nicolas Copernicus, Nikola Tesla, Nikolai Ivanovich, etc.), and occasionally, Shmatteh.

For about $60, you can actually get a DNA test for your dog to find out exactly what's in her. It's pretty bad ass. A friend of mine had it done on his little dog. They send you the kit, you swab her mouth and send it in. She ended up being a mix of large and small dogs - about 6 different kinds - some of which she looked absolutely nothing like. They send the results listed on a signed, official pedigree-type certificate thingy that you can frame and display somewhere. It was her Christmas present this past year lol. Fun thing to do for folks who love their mutts.

We have a female dachshund-beagle mix named Maggie. Very sweet dog. She kinda roo's at you like Snoopy when you come home.
We had an orange male tabby that showed up as a kitten one day last summer. We named him Jellybean. He was very lovable. He was an outside cat and was runoff by a stray dog that showed up and adopted us. I was sad that he left, but I still have hope he's still alive somewhere out there. He was a big fella. Anyway, the dog that showed up, we named Petey after the Little Rascals dog. He looks just like him (at least from my memory), plus he has one brown eye and one blue one. (always wanted a dog like that) He's about a year old or so. He was skin and bones when he showed up, but very nice and loving (except to cats) so we now have two dogs. An indoor and outdoor one. I miss Jellybean though.

i helped save a goldfish from the jaws of a crocodile, who became front page news here in Dubai.
The crocodile was sold on the blackmarket by a friend who posed undercover as a potential buyer. she bought the goldfish to feed the crocodile, but gave the crocodile to the local zoo before it was fed my fish. His two other friends were not as lucky.... So i called my fish 'Survivor'

my Dog is named Raider, he's a mutt, and a very good dog.
then I've got 2 Cats, Bacon, and Grey. Bacon jumped into a skillet of cooling but still hot bacon grease, and he's orange and white... so Bacon worked. Grey never did anything stupid.... shes kinda greyish/black tabby splotches with white. so she just got called grey.
