lt1tech: heres how, very roughly, and in plain talk, secure HTTP connection works:
Your PC: Hi! Heres my IP Address if you want to talk to me! Server PC: *check that its not on the banned list, if not on the banned list ->* Hello! Whats your username and Password? Your PC: Username: Username, Password: Password. Server PC:*checks login... notes that the login has an hacked flag on it ->* redirects your PC to a webpage with the following on it: "Hello IP Address, Im gonna ass whoop you!" Normally, these messages are just in place to scare people who arent too familiar with the way the internet works. Internet laws are odd to begin with anyway, and im not even sure that entering these sites with a cracked password is illegal anyway... but definitely there is nothing they can do about it, unless of course you hacked into thier site and defaced it or something. |
