2010 Resolutions

I'm not bothering this year. I like the idea of New Year's resolutions. The whole 'fresh start' thing is probably great motivation for some. But to me it's just another January. Besides, I'm tired of not meeting my expectations. So I guess, my New Year's resolution is to not make a New Year's resolution.

And how about you?

dlish 01-01-2010 04:23 AM

ive promised myself that i'd cut back on the hobbit jokes

no, seriously.. i have!

Charlatan 01-01-2010 07:20 AM

I don't do resolutions. If I want to change something or accomplish something I don't wait for the beginning of the year... I just do it.

Craven Morehead 01-01-2010 08:15 AM

Nothing screams New Year's resolutions like the increase in health club participation in January. The facility I belong to will be packed each night after work. Then the numbers will begin to fall off in Feb. Its like that every year. I joined in Jan. 2000. Its one resolution that has stuck for me, I go nearly every day now. But obviously for others, its one month and done.

I don't do resolutions. If I am going to change something about myself, I don't see the need to wait until January 1st to do so. I am constantly working on improving myself and learning about myself. It is not a thing that can turn on or off because of the date on the calendar.

i resolve that i'm already drinking this morning......so i won't even bother.

new years is a good a time as any to kick the dust from the bottom of one's sandals.

Exactly.

I don't usually do new years resolutions either, I'd rather change what I need to when I need to and better yet when I actually feel motivated to.

Brandon G. 01-01-2010 11:30 PM

I always tell myself that I want to make a resolution, and I usually do, but the spirit of one normally phases itself out after around the 10th of January, or so.

The only one I've made for myself, is to reduce, and eventually end my addiction to caffeine. To think there are so many worse addictions out there! I think soda, tea, coffee, and whatever else I drink that is loaded with caffeine, is what has prevented me from dropping the last of the excess weight I've been carrying for a long time.

It's not going to be easy (even my mom said she won't want to be around me when my body goes through its withdrawal stages), but it will be beneficial in the end, and it'll save me some money each paycheck, from buying it!

My wife asked me this question. I replied, "I resolved to get more blowjobs in 2010."

My New Year's resolution is to drink a LOT of alcohol. I figure if I manage to do that, It'll be fun times! If not, well that's not so bad either.

My resolution for this year is to quit drinking soda and energy drinks. I am starting to realize just how draggy they make me feel, getting rid of them should help.

ShaniFaye 01-04-2010 10:33 AM

this is what I posted on FB last week

I'm not one for making "new years resolutions" I'm more about making a to do list...those that know me extremely well, know I'm a "list" person lol

so...here is my list of things to do for 2010

Get the outline of my book finished so I can get the first chapter out of my head and on paper so I can become the next famous author
Find new ways to promote my genealogy websites
Fill in the holes in the Byers research so that I can get that book published by October
Go to Chicago with Dave
Decide what my next tattoo is going to be
Only use 9 sick days (not counting if I have to have surgery for the tumor)
Remind Dave every single day what a worthwhile and amazing person he is
Enjoy the new friendships made in 2009
Try to remember that just because something is important to me, other people generally dont really give a damn and try not to really dislike them for that
Continue not dwelling on the things people have done that have pissed me off
Spend more time with my sister
Understand just what it means to have a 16 year old

there are probably more, but these are the most important

Jove 01-04-2010 12:01 PM

Participate in a 5k race this spring.

HockeyGuy 01-05-2010 09:32 AM

I suppose mine is just something that has to be done, but spend less money needlessly (as we're buying a house...).

Manic_Skafe 01-05-2010 11:06 AM

More and less.

This is what I tell everyone, and its true.

Some of my goals that I set about 6 months ago include:
- Getting in stupid good shape, complete with hot-ass 6-pack
- Learn another language, I started all good on this before but dropped it recently. The languages I want to learn are Spanish and Arabic. Who knows if either will ever pan out
- Play more guitar! I put all my guitars on the walls a few months ago and since then I seem to play them much more often.
- Learn as much financial knowledge as I can cram into my head and see what I can do with it. In 2009 I managed to put more money into investments than my entire life before that, lets have 2010 top that!
