Is it posted anywhere else?
|
|
Yes, it's all over the news, actually. NY Times picked it up.
|
Not sure I'd refer to her as a youth at 32 -
I'm really shocked to learn this. She was just featured on TMZ the other day while at the airport with her husband. Looked normal. They mostly talked about her husband being overweight. Very sad. |
That's a shame :(
|
So.., who was she?
|
Sad and all, for her family and fans, but...

She did the voice for Luanne Platter on King of the Hill...
I'm sure that answers your questions. :p |
you know..the chick in that movie..errr
...another heath ledger maybe? i know where my money is |

^^ Ohhh, yeah, the girl who was in the movie with Dakota Fanning ... Uptown Girls, I think ... yeah I liked her performance on that movie. But then I know very little about the actress herself.
|
She started out in that movie, "Clueless" as Alicia Silverstone's best friend. She was kind of a slightly plump geek in that movie. Then she later blossomed into a beauty with an extreme makeover.

Who the hell cares what movies she's been in?? She died at 32.
That's fucking awful. |
I thought she was best in Sin City. What a shame.

What a bummer.
Hmm...don't celebrities die in cycles of 3? WHO WILL THE NEXT 2 BE |
That's sad. She was great as Luanne on King of the Hill. I, for one, remember many of the movies that she starred in. I thought she was cool in Clueless, but then again I was barely a teenager. I still have that stupid line from the Don't Say a Word trailer in my head..

She was in this really horrible kung fu movie called Drive that kept playing on HBO for a short period. She was sexy and annoying. I liked her.
|
...
|
I thought she was extremely hot, I hate to see her go too. She was a good actress and seemed to fit in well with indie-type movies and the Tarantino/Rodriguez/Del Toro crowd.
|
I knew her best from her work in this song
Faster Kill Pussycat (Feat. Brittany Murphy) | Paul Oakenfold | Music Video | MTV I could make a mix out of dead celebrities at this rate: RIP B.M. Some MJ remixes, Junkie X.L remixes of Elvis Presley, etc... but yeah this is really sad :( I know her life isn't inherently worth more than that of anyone elses but those people didn't make the name for themselves that this young actress did. |
I remember her excellent portrayal of a disturbed young lady,
in the movie, 'Girl Interrupted.' Daisy. Rest well, young woman interrupted: http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...ingy/daisy.jpg |
32!?
i'll put the bbq down now. |
Now I have a reason to watch one of her films that I have on my netflix instant queue called The Ramen Girl.
|
(she shall be missed)
I don't really like to keep pics of girls I know are now deceased in my files. I'll share this here before I 'delete' it.
http://5.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kuz...m7qco1_500.jpg (cheers to you for at least making a portion of us laugh regularly) This came out of left field, I agree, but what doesn't? Accidents happen daily, and even if this death can be explained by actions on her part, we would likely not be privy to her private recreational habits or medical conditions. I've heard of starlets dying while on ski vacations, or three months after their death, confirmed reports that the person was suffering from cancer surfaces, so ... I don't know. These things happen. My day of highs may come crashing down about now. |

She also starred alongside Ashton Kutcher in Just Married. I think I agree with ring on the Girl Interupted movie. She gave a great performance.
Its really sad :( What a shame. |

I regularly watch TMZ - they're one of the few, most accurate gossipy shows on TV so it's the only one I bother with. I'm anxious to see what info they'll have on her tonight. |
No illegal drugs found, but the house was loaded with prescription meds under her Mother's name, her husband's name and her name. There apparently was vomit all over the bathroom where she collapsed. So as of now, the word is she relapsed on painkillers (she had issues with drugs before - not much of a shocker there.)
|
eh, it's always easy for me to roll my eyes and go "yeah big surprise, another hollywood drug death" but it just makes part of me sad that, these people and their careers, in the public eye, couldn't overcome such destructive addictions and temptations. It's almost as if talent/likability + temptation/addiction is just a very brutal combo for the public to swallow.
Guess the autopsy will tell if it was accidental or abuse, though I have no doubts that there was a drug involvement, given the evidence, circumstantial as it is at the moment. |
What an absolute shame. I can't recall every seeing a movie of hers but I was HUGE fan of King of the Hill and I love how well she made Luanne Platter work, no other voice would have been quite the same.
I guess the jury is still out on this one but like others have stated I really wouldn't be surprised if drugs were involved either. I can't begin to imagine the stress that comes with being famous. The hours you work, having to maintain an image (body shape and such), constant public scrutiny, striving for perfection amongst other things has got to take its toll. Most people just aren't mentally or physically equipped to deal with such a lifestyle and the temptation to slip into the world of meds to stay competitive or deal with the stress must be overwhelming. |
Just heard something new on the news - she became violently ill with flu-like symptoms in a short period of time. Waiting on toxicology still.
Dunno : shrug: |
