Tiger Woods and his alleged aussie mistress Rachel Uchitel

so tiger woods has been allededly been busted having an affair with an aussie mistress Rachel Uchitel (damn those hot aussie girls!, and after seeing the video do you blame him..gee whiz). both deny the story, but tiger hasnt really done himself any favours by turning down interviews with the cops.

is it really a big deal? should the world richest sportsman be left alone to sort out a domestic issue with his wife? or is he the property of the media/world and hence fodder because he's a public persona?

i expected the story to break here, but surprisingly it hasnt! here's the story for those that have been hibernating.

his wife is hotter than the mistress...

but anyway, I don't see how being a public figure makes him fodder for the media..it's not like he's on an ethics committee or anything..

LoganSnake 11-30-2009 10:45 AM

He should try to get them in a three-way.

If the guy just played golf and kept to himself, I'd agree with you, but when you become a corporate shill and make over a billion dollars just from selling yourself to advertisers, it's a little late for the "I can't help it I'm famous" act of righteous indignation. Once he whored himself out to Buick, Chevron, Nike, Gatorade, Electronic Arts, Gillette, Tag Heuer, Accenture, etc. ad nauseum, he gave up his right to a "private" life.

You can't have it both ways - you can't reap over $100M per year invading millions of people's living rooms every day via your endless advertising gigs and not expect a little attention in return.

Also, he's telling the police "Fuck off - I'm Tiger Woods; you can't touch me."
That alone makes it news.

His press release basically said the same thing to the public.

Vigilante 11-30-2009 11:22 AM

I never cared.

BadNick 11-30-2009 11:30 AM

I hope Tiger says nothing more just so I can see how long the media press can drag this out. As for the cops, let them investigate and find out what they can if they think a minor fender bender and a bumped tree are worth the effort and expense.

That's what I concluded after searching for pics of what's her name. It's a matter of taste but just based on looks I find the wife more attractive.

Otherwise, they seem like a nice couple/family so I hope they're able to get past this and move on.

Affairs are such difficult situations.
Whenever I see something like this, I hold out hope that it's just some big miscommunication followed by so much media attention that it blows everything out of proportion. It makes me sick to my stomach, especially when children are involved.

I don't find his wife attractive. With her bleach-blonde hair and overdone makeup, she almost always looks fake and sleezy.
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/sports/...1320707141.jpg
really - this is attractive? I want to puke.

Glory's Sun 11-30-2009 12:32 PM

jealousy is ugly..

anyway..

Sure the man has buttloads of cash, and he's a spokesman for buttloads of companies.. I doubt any of those contracts said that he'd lose his right to some sort of privacy. I think the greater fault is that we as a society think that him having an affair is any different than joe neighbor having one. What makes his worse? The fact that he's a professional golfer? I don't think that makes it worse, I think it just means that people are too concerned about the lives of "celebrities" instead of being concerned about their own lives.

I'm paraphrasing, Phil - but as I type this, I can hear my TV in the background - Charles Gibson is saying, "and Tiger Woods is still refusing to talk to the police about his Thanksgiving Night crash."

I doubt you or I would get away with refusing to talk with the police about a 2:30 a.m. crash that resulted in damage to City property and a neighbor's property. Especially for 3 straight days. I guess some parts of being a celebrity are okay with him, but others aren't?

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass who he's having sex with - and I think the ever-growing celebrity worship in this country is disgusting. But he was operating a motor vehicle and caused property damage and he's refusing to cooperate with the Highway Patrol. That's what I have a problem with.

Interesting, I love how there seems to be no shortage of video compilations of mistress pics, yet any "tribute" :) video of his wife is taken down due to copyright infringement.

Isn't it just amazing what a good lawyer can do for you? It's probably just about as amazing as how much money Rachel Uchitel will reel in off this. Go Go Hollywood

That pretty much sums up my take on this. I first heard this on the CBC a few days ago when it appeared to be just an innocuous traffic incident. Having hibernated for a few days and now coming back to this story I find it absolutely hilarious. This will be a keystone for Daily Show/Colbert jokes for a long long time.

I simply don't see how privacy factors into the situation here. Here's a guy who lived his dream and made millions, living one of the most beautiful lives in the nation, really the only price I can see that came with that was a loss of privacy. It should go without saying that if some guy who's running around on his family gets caught red-handed should end up feeling ashamed. At least in Tiger's case he's got some huge wads of cash to turn to for alimony payments.

little_tippler 12-01-2009 04:11 AM

I seriously doubt that a higher degree of beauty is why men cheat. I think it is due to attraction, independently of beauty - When a man's wife is not giving him the attention he feels he needs or she's arguing with him all the time, a hot, sexy, non-emotionally involved woman is very attractive.

gg, even though she may have bleached her hair one shade of blonde too far, you can't deny that she does have beauty. This photo is a little better evidence of that, I think:

http://www.the-planets.com/star-biog...iography-4.jpg

Also, if you compare both women, they are of similar styles, and if I had to say one was more beautiful than the other, I'd say Elin Woods is the more beautiful one. Here is Rachel Uchitel:

http://www.dailyworldbuzz.com/wp-con...tel-Photos.jpg

With regards to the actual situation, I couldn't give two shits about the man or his personal life. I think that once you are famous, some of your privacy is gone and you have to deal with it. It is what it is. Does he have a right to privacy? Of course. Will he get it? Clearly not because many, many people want to know his business. I also think that if he's trying to be self-important and say I'm Tiger Woods so no-one can touch me, I hope he gets totally slammed and exposed by the cops and the media. Lack of humility makes me mad and I hope he gets exactly what he deserves. I also abhor cheating.

paddyjoe 12-01-2009 04:32 AM

I guess we just need patience on this deal.

I'm sure all the facts will be made public during the divorce proceedings.......

uncle phil 12-01-2009 04:43 AM

and this whole incident affects us how?

The_Jazz 12-01-2009 05:25 AM

Perhaps this is fodder for the old saying "show me a (presumed straight) beautiful woman and I'll show you a guy tired of putting up with her shit". Not that the beautiful women of the world are more high-maintenance than the rest of us, just that they're just as human as the rest of us.

Here's the thing for me about this whole incident: Tiger has spent his career trying to live out of the spot light. His job requires intense media focus at times, but he keeps his personal life personal. He doesn't make birthday party appearances for insane amounts of money or the like, and he makes sure to keep out of the papparazzi's eye as much as possible. How many candid pictures of the guy have you seen that weren't taken on a golf course?

The other aspect here is control. He's controlling the situation, and honestly I think he's doing a good job of it. Personally I think that his wife probably caused the facial injuries because she believed the cheating rumors - whether or not those are true doesn't really matter to me - and that he may have taken some pain killers and then driven. But he doesn't want his wife to go to jail, and he doesn't want to make a bad situation worse. Whether or not that's the case now is open to debate.

Now whether or not he's using his celebrity to avoid the police is a double-edged sword. Perhaps he is (probably he is), but the police are pursuing this so aggressively because of his celebrity. If this were any schmuck off the street, do you think they'd be seeking search warrants, etc. to get to the bottom of it?

highthief 12-01-2009 05:41 AM

Other than Tiger, the 3 best golfers of all time are Hogan, Nicklaus and Palmer.

Married, respectively, 62, 50 and 45 years to their wives.

Perhaps it's no coincidence then that Tiger failed to win a major this year during a time of apparent marital problems.

filtherton 12-01-2009 05:59 AM

I think it's stupid. Who cares about Tiger Woods' alleged marital problems? The media does, because they can convince us it somehow matters and make some money. Why do people who aren't members of the media care? It isn't a particularly novel narrative, the whole "rich athlete cheats on his wife" line.

Tiger Woods isn't entitled to privacy, because --contrived rationalizations aside-- no one really is entitled to privacy because the world is full of people who have no respect for other folks' privacy. But I'm going to give him some privacy, because I'm not a fucking tool (at least if I am a tool, it's for other reasons) who feels the need to rationalize his own boredom fueled curiosity for the gossip on Tiger Woods' sex life..

Ummm, Hogan wasn't even the best golfer from Texas. Byron Nelson pretty much cemented that title for all eternity in the 40's and no one will even match his 11 straight victories and 18 in a season. But your overall point is well taken since he was married to his wife for 50 years.

That conceeded, I don't think that you can tie his lack of a major win this year solely to any marital problems. He did have a little boo-boo on his leg.

Wait, people aren't entitled to privacy because other people are curious? What?

Craven Morehead 12-01-2009 06:43 AM

Tiger needs to take a page from David Letterman and come clean on this. The longer he lets rumor and speculation run wild, the worse it will get. Letterman's ordeal is largely forgotten and it was far more serious than a minor accident.

Byron Nelson? You're kidding right?

Hogan had 65 tour wins and 9 big majors, securing the Grand Slam after coming back from a horrific car accident that shattered his legs. The doctors doubted whether he'd walk again let alone play golf competively.

Nelson won 52 tour events and 5 majors. They played in the same era so it is easy to compare.

By any standard, Hogan was the superior golfer, although by all accounts, Nelson was a much nicer fellow.

BTW, Nelson was married to his first wife, until her death, for 50 years! There's a theme here ...

As to Tiger, he won a bunch of other lesser events, but no majors, and even he will concede it was a poor season. Majors are when everyone raises their game - but not Tiger this year. Only he can say for sure, but I would bet the marital discord is a factor.

they don't have to convince anyone.... the ratings speak for themeselves as to the focus groups that build up the rationale for ratings.

As much as I hate to further derail this, I've got one last tidbit to cement my contention. Hogan never beat Nelson head to head in a final round, including their first matchup when they played for the caddy championship as kids. And Nelson retired in his prime to go be a rancher, so the numbers you're looking at are necessarily skewed. Add in WWII, and there's even more debate. But the lack of Hogan victories speaks volumes to me.

Hogan's a great story and a very interesting individual (especially since he essentially watch his father commit suicide), but Nelson was the better golfer.

I think you're the only one pounding this drum. Golf Digest (before Tiger was really in consideration) even ranked Hogan 2nd all time versus 5th for Nelson.

Nelson had a great win streak in 1945 when the rest of the world was at war. It's a fantastic streak - but over the course of a career, Hogan has more wins, more majors, and overcame enormous adversity.

Of the three originally mentioned (Jack, Arnie and Hogan) I would say that Arnie is the most overrated in terms of what he did on a golf course - but he changed people's perceptions of golf, and that is his enduring legacy.

Scandanavian model > dishevelled "hostess"

Plan9 12-01-2009 08:50 AM

Thing I'm thinking about is how much Tiger Woods curses when any little thing goes wrong for him. He's got an absolutely filthy "bitch, fuck you you shit fuckin' cunt-fuck!" mouth when he's golfing (he played at the Fort Bragg "Stryker" golf course a few years back and one of my Joes was assigned to the detail). I can't imagine how he's reacting to something this annoying. It's probably a little like "Tourettes Guy" from YouTube.

You have every right NOT to talk to the police about anything. 5th amendment man, look her up. I've seen a few shows/videos from lawyers that suggest that you NEVER talk to the police. Let them sort out if they think they have some sort of case, then lawyer up. It's not celebrity that says be quiet, it's intelligence.

Is she an aussie? I thought there was speculation about an affair because she was a Noo Yawk cocktail waitress who somehow showed up in Australia at the same party Woods was at.

At any rate, his driving skills have apparently diminshed.

I read the news today, oh boy, and my favorite latest twist to this story is how the family next door seems to have retained a lawyer to explain their role in helping, etc...and the best part is they seem to be another celebrity family, The Adams Family! who woulda thunk it?

Tiger Woods, the $8-an-hour diner waitress and the deal that kept their affair out of the news | Mail Online

It would appear that while Tiger was trying to break Jack's records, he was trying to break Wilt's too.

ASU2003 12-07-2009 05:32 PM

I actually agreed with something Rush said on his radio show today. This is getting ridiculous. How many girls are claiming to have slept with Tiger, 5, 9, 10...? And the one girl he was cheating with is even upset that there are other girls besides her?

I just wonder when it started, and when did Elin find out?

ratbastid 12-07-2009 06:19 PM

Evidently Elin moved out today. Tiger's handlers are trying to keep it quiet, but that's the current rumor.

This makes Elin the most eligible batchelorette on the block. A 7-figure settlement, and you have to sleep with 8 other women, one of whom is a porn star, to be as bad as the ex-husband.
